Testimonials from Piper's clients:
"Had half a dozen trips set up through Piper before COVID hit. She has been a champ with cruises cancelling, flights changing, cancelled plans, rescheduling, etc. Have rebooked several for next year and she is always happy to help and very detail oriented. It is especially helpful to have someone you know will be "on the other end of the line" when travel plans change, flight connections are missed or changed. Piper is readily available to help you through it all!"

Overview
Once the weekend retreat of the Schiffino family Casa Bonita has been budged by nature to open its doors to outside guest and become an eco-lodge. Located in Barahona, in the still unspoiled and secluded southwest region of the Dominican Republic and adjacent to the only biosphere reserve in the country, Casa Bonita offers a unique ecological experience.
A member of Small Luxury Hotels if the World, Casa Bonita consists of 12 cabanas, a spa and restaurant featuring naturally grown products from the area.
"beach, sun, adventure and nature all delivered in a relaxing environment"
Guests have the opportunity to experieince nature as its neighbors are the Sierra Barahuco Mountains, Rio Barahuco and Riosito River along with an array of flora and fauna. Casa Bonita is a testament that it is possible to live among nature peacefully. This is a place where the lush green mountains create the back drop for the perfect sunrise, the running rivers borering the property sooth guests into relaxation and the microclimates keep the air crisp and fresh.
Immersed in its surroundings, Casa Bonita staffs the local people of Barahona and maintains its own organic garden for use in the restaurant and the Tanama Spa (meaning butterfly in the native Taino language).
Pat's garden was named after its designer, American horticulturist Pat Kennedy. Based on all-organic methods, Pat's Organic Garden contributes to Casa Bonita's commitment to sustainability and provides a unique farm-to-table dining experience. For a complete agro-tourism experience, guests may even take part in the harvesting of organic vegetables, fruits & herbs.
Selman built the accommodations in a way where each room has views of both the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Barahuco Mountains. Each of the 12 deluxe rooms displays graphic art by the acclaimed conservation photographer Eladio Fernandez. Rooms also feature a private balcony overlooking the tropical jungle and out to sea. King bed or two queen beds available.
"for tourists looking for a secluded luxury accommodation"
Casa Bonita's personalized service, provided by the friendly and caring staff trained with our family's "savoir faire," will make you feel at home.
We design therapeutic treatments around miraculous natural elements like coffee, chocolate, coconut, basil, bamboo, noni, mango, and pineapple.
A unique treatment at Casa Bonita uses the combination of hot and cold "Ciba Azul" stones, meaning Blue Stone in the native Taino language.
At night, the magical spectacle of the rain of cocuyos, or lightening bugs, dancing among the trees around the pavilion, creates an enchanting show perfect for a romantic couples massage.
End a romatic evening with a glass of wine and a dip in our candlelit Jacuzzi where the only accomplices shall be the stars.
