Greenacres is Hanmer Springs original motel. It started life in the 1950s as a quaint collection of holiday cabins. In the years since, Greenacres has been rebuilt and modernized to be a self contained alpine style village with its delightful village green forming the centrepiece of 2 ½ acres of landscaped gardens.

Today the complex comprises 9 individual chalets and 4 superior Villas and a 3 bedroom retreat. All all fully equipped and ready for your enjoyment.

Only a few minutes walk from the Hanmer Springs shops, restaurants and famous Hot Pools, Greenacres is a quiet haven where birdlife abounds and the views will amaze you we are the only motel with an elevation above the village.

We pride our selves in our environmental sustainablity and encourage our guests to help us care for our environment by recycling rubbish and conserving power and water whilst still offering comfort and service.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Rented the 3bdr cottage on the hill. Complete kitchen and nice view from living room. However, no airconditioning in room and can be quite hot during summer. Easy check in and out.

Review:   We had 2 nights accommodation in a 2 bedroom villa. The grounds were great lots of room but unfortunately that's where it stops. We got into our villa number 11 and it hadn't looked like it had been cleaned in both rooms there was beer bottle caps on the floor and on the window ledge. In the main bedroom there was in the corner looked like poop. We were also bitten by bed bugs all 8 of us the floor was not vacuumed up and kitchen dishes were dirty we had to clean them before we used them. We were very disappointed as we all were excited to stay. The only thing I liked about the place was the view.

Review:   Welcome to the 70ties! Very old fashioned but OK for one night. 135NZ$ for a regular cabin with one bedroom.

Review:   DO NOT STAY HERE THIS PLACE IS A DUMP AND A WASTE OF $160!! The only good thing about it was the view from the kitchen window.. Im not sure where to start with what was wrong.... - the heater was so noisy and rattly. The place was that cold we had no choice but to have it rattling 24/7 and it did a piss poor job. - the shower dribbled out of the shower head .. terrible pressure. Previous persons hair stuck to the shower wall. - we found some rank hair in 3 of the coffee cups that were provided along with heaps of animal hair and other random hair all over the duvet cover. Im pretty sure the yuck brown duvets havent been washed for 3 years. Atleast the sheets were clean - the walls were stained and an off yellow colour. The carpets really stained too along with the arm chair and couch. Old, stained and really uncomfortable. - the bed was straight from the 1800's. Very uncomfortable we had a shocking sleep and couldnt wait to leave there in the morning. - there was no one at reception at checkout meaning we couldnt complain or try get a partial refund for the disgustingness that they call a chalet. Really pissed off we were looking forward to a relaxing night away but once we arrived we had instant regrets.Stay away from this place. Your better off staying at the camping ground for a fraction of the price. Total rip off. We wont be coming back or recommending it to anyone. Completely run down terrible place!
