Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   The staff were very friendly and helpful, always happy to assist. The rooms are very nice, and we were happy to see that they were clean and quite spacious. There was a slight smell of the geyser every now and again, however, it was mostly unnoticeable. They have a great pool and spa area, which are heated by geothermal energy! The hotel is a little bit out of the city but they provide (free) hourly shuttles in and out of the city, and many of the businesses in the area also provide complimentary pick up when you participate in their activities. You can also see the geyser from some rooms, or take a short walk behind the hotel to see it up close. I would definitely recommend the hotel for the staff, rooms and hotel facilities, as well as proximity to the geysers, however, this due to the location, it may not be ideal for all travellers.

Review:   Great location next to the Maori village and hot springs. Great trail behind the hotel.walk out all the way to the bridge fora great view of hot springs and a cascading waterfall. Hotel has great beds, pillows and powerful showers. We are at the restaurant twice.food is pretty good, service is great and prices are decent.

Review:   Spire Elite membership was honored and we were upgraded to a King room. Had a view of the geysers! The bed was very comfy and our room was quiet. Staff was wonderful, they even brought up towels and a robe straight to our room! Finding a parking spot was a hassle - my husband ended up parking at the Maori Village and walking back to the hotel. I don't recommend ordering the room service breakfast. It was a debacle! Took an hour and 45 minutes to arrive, food was cold, omelette was overcooked and brown, no butter or jam provided for toast, only 1 set of utensils provided for 2 meals. They did comp it due to the delay, but we were still disappointed.

Review:   What a great stay. The room was great, views are fantastic and breakfast was well worth it. A great place to stay if you're biking in the forest - there's a wash-down area and secure bike storage.

Review:   Nice place. Modern facilities. Great bed. Good restaurant and they didn't gouge us on the meal and drink prices. I'll be back.
