Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Excellent service at breakfast, the pool, housekeeping and beach. Room was lovely. Have to say Leslie Wallace at the pool was very Accommodating setting us up by the pool. The only thing we missed, there is no entertainment at night. You need to go to the village. Lunch and dinner is on your own. Drinks are $15. And food is pricey ,but good.. If you want to relax and be quiet this is the place.

Review:   We live in NC and have been staying at this incredible property since it opened in 2005. We are here 2-3 times a year and ONLY stay here because it is simply the best. Stay here once and you will see what we are saying. The staff, the rooms, the food, the pool, the view...everything is absolutely stunning. Take it from 2 world travelers - it’s #1.

Review:   Nice hotel, good rooms, nice grounds. The breakfast is worth getting, it's your best breakfast option. The staff are super nice and accommodating, the pool(s) are awesome, the beach is great. I stayed immediately after a hurricane and can't comment on typical crowds, but when I stayed there wasn't an overabundance of people.

Review:   Stayed here in January and the hotel is great. The rooms are built plush and grand, while the grounds are meticulously kept. Remember to lock your doors! There is no auto-lock and you need to turn the key when leaving. Pool: pretty and large, but not heated. The days when it was colder, everyone was inside the hot tub with the pool being empty (2 days in a row). I would recommend adjusting the pool temperature if it’s not prime weather. If you’re wondering, yes, the hot tub was cloudy and disgusting as it was filled with people from morning until close. If the pool was heated, this would not have happened. Pool restaurant (“Plunge”): BLAH! Really nice staff at the restaurant, but almost impossible to get food by the pool as no one walks around taking orders. Why not?! Also, the menu is neither Caribbean, high-end, nor is it ocean oriented... maybe pick a menu that is more than just bar food. Minor issue: if it rains, plunge becomes overfilled with water as there aren’t any drains. Beach is gorgeous and the staff are friendly. Get there early as the covered chairs fill up quickly. Breakfast is complimentary and Simone (egg-chef) is amazing! She’s pleasant and always smiling. Also, the garden is a gorgeous area to eat but is closed when it rains. Good luck finding anything decent to eat for lunch... only thing open is the Plunge restaurant. Room service: $32 for a cheese plate vs $20 for a small cheese and pop chips at the Palm store. Rip-off whichever way you cut the cheese. Concierge is very nice! Honestly, the staff in its entirety was extremely nice and welcoming! Each person passing by said hello with a smile. They sadly don’t have cigars for purchase anywhere on the premises. Dinner: the Parallel23 restaurant is good but not great. Waiters are friendly and ready to help. Food is good. The menu is the same every day with no specials and each day, there was at least one item that was sold out. I would highly recommend making the menu different or adding specials because it’s the only dinner restaurant on premises. Night: everything is basically done at 11 (if not sooner). There’s a bar but it’s not exciting and is made to have people sit around and relax. Not my favorite but people were enjoying themselves. Keep in mind that this bar only opens at 5pm. Oh, by the way, I wish they had better WiFi! Went to the Gansevoort and it had amazing WiFi while The Palms WiFi works but is nothing special.
