Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   looking a little worn out now, tried to use the watet sports at the hotel the guy told me he was going on his lunch (3pm) and he never came back. They shut the water sports down at 4......! All just a little to casual.

Review:   This hotel is one of the most highly rated on google maps & tripadvisor, and because I have Aeroplan Black status, you can get a complimentary room upgrade (if available) - so we booked here. On the drive here, my wife was concerned that this wasn’t actually going to be upscale, but once we got in and asked to see the room, we realized we were in a really nice place. Everything had just gone through a renovation in the last few months. During checkin, the hostess greeted us with cool towels with a lavender/citrus zest which was extremely refreshing in the Barbados heat. They also provided us with cocktails and punch while we waited for the room to be prepared. Coming from Canada we didn’t realize checkin here is at 4 PM and we arrived at 1 ... but they were able to put a rush on it for us and we waited only about 20 minutes! The bellhops took our luggage down to the room for us, which was awesome because the heat here is very draining and the long walk to the end of the villa would have been quite taxing with those heavy bags. All rooms have an ocean view, you can leave the sliding doors open and hear the oceanside ... I would not sleep with the doors open because the beach is public and locals might be walking around. The staff here are extremely nice, accomodating and friendly - my wife and I both felt like we’ve never been treated better at a hotel than we were here. Second, they upgraded us to a Suite for free! The suite even had butler service, they were checking on us through the day, getting us things, booking restaurants for us, etc. The suite is beautiful, the room is great - everything is so clean and comfortable. The shower has great water pressure, the bed is perfect size, there’s an area for lounging before you go out through sliding doors onto your private deck. A quick hop over the deck gets you on the sandy beaches where the beautiful beach is literally 10 feet from the room. Every day from 4-5 they have a free high tea service which is a selection of sandwiches and sweets with your choice of coffee or tea. (The little blackbirds here are so cute, they come up to the table and eat from your hand if you like). They were even able to accomodate my wife’s gluten allergy and bring a really nice selection of gluten-free sandwiches and treats. Down near the end of the rooms there’s a bunch of trees where a family of monkeys live! There’s a nice pool, a couple of great restaurants with a wonderful view of the water, a tennis court, and a bar. The bar fridge in the room is a little small, I was able to cram a couple of water bottles in - but it’s not meant as a fridge for your personal items. At 5:30 the butlers come by with but a tray of canapes (appetizers) which they also accomdate for gluten free and vegan guests. After that aroudn 7 PM the housekeepers come by for turndown service and provide you with free bottles of water. The suite that we were in is normally $899 and we only paid $399 with the free upgrade. In the high season (October on) they charge $3000 a night for these suites. It was an awesome experience. Highly recommded to stay here if you have Aeroplan status for the free upgrades and amenities, or if you have the extra money to spend on getting treated like a king with a walk-out beachside suite.

Review:   Lovely rooms and good service but the both resteraunts need addressing. Palm terrace is big and austere not at all inviting and the smaller resteraunt is lovely for breakfast but needs the menu changing to more appetizing lunches and dinner. If like us you decide to eat out every lunch and dinner because of the above then you will love it.
