The legend
Joe's Beerhouse is truly Namibian and one of Africa's many wide-spread legends.

Overview
Joe's Beerhouse was started by Joe Gross, a German master chef who immigrated to Namibia in 1986 to open a fine-dining restaurant with a partner.
After three years his partner decided to return to Germany and the Kaiserkrone Restaurant was sold. The sale allowed Joe to develop his idea to create a small, cosy pub, which offered its patrons a relaxed spot to have a drink and enjoy a light meal. He opened the first Joe's Beerhouse in 1990 in Grimm Street.
Joe realised after two years he had to relocate to bigger premises due to the popularity of the Beerhouse, and so the furnishings and essence of the Beerhouse moved to Independence Avenue.
