Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Spacious two bedder family unit right in a hotel... wow... lot of options for food as it is in the heart of Te Anau. Great service and sumptuous breakfast. Check out the information centre by the lake close by.

Review:   Good location in town almost by the lake & within yards of several restaurants. Although we didn't have air conditioning there was a big fan in our room which in this unusual heat for NZ kept us cool enough. Breakfast of a reasonable standard. Most guests were on coach tours either going to or from Milford Sound as we were.

Review:   The hotel is dated, but in a great way. Very clean, and in great condition. The staff are wonderful and the location is perfect. Close to shops, food and has brilliant views of the lake and mountains... Highly recommended to anyone needing a place to stay in The Anau

Review:   Overpriced. Captive market for this town so the result is you have little choice. For the price the beds rated budget accommodation even if given 2 queen size. Hard as the floor to me. Summer and no air-conditioning, just a fan. Windows hardly open. I guess a short summer means they don't cater for it but its booked out and for us, a hot uncomfortable night. Breakfast was fine. The motel is clean and centrally located. Milford Sound was wonderful!

Review:   Location near the town and local restaurants. Comfy room. We were on a touring holiday en route to Milford Sound. Good overnight stop.
