Your hosts, Marlene and Alan welcome you to High Peaks Hotel where we offer comfortable, relaxed, hotel style accommodation in Fox Glacier, on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. Our aim is to provide high quality facilities while keeping tarrifs at a reasonable level.

Situated 1.5 kms down Cook Flat Road, High Peaks has a magnificent view of Aoraki/Mount Cook and Mount Tasman, as can be seen in the photo gallery or on the webcam. This view can not be seen from the township.

Set in a quiet, rural location, away from the township with it's main road traffic and late night bars and with considerable attention to sound proofing in the construction of High Peaks Hotel, guests can be assured of a very peaceful nights rest.

We can help arrange any of the numerous activities in the area, from helicopter flights to glacier walks, and we can provide information on the various sightseeing options available.

We provide a range of services and features – let us cook you breakfast or dinner in our restaurant, soak up the sun on the large sun deck or relax in your spacious room.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   I stayed here two nights in February 2018. No bar or restaurant. I booked this over another hotel because the "bar/restaurant" looked nice. When I checked in they said it was not open. I feel a bit misled. They do serve a typical hotel breakfast out of that area, but not food or drink at night. It was closed up with lights off. This hotel was also one of the more expensive hotels in the area. I was in the area for a week and booked much cheaper hotels with the same or better facilities. On top of all of this the staff is not friendly. Especially, the gentleman at the front. If hospitality is important to you go somewhere else.

Review:   Terrible hotel with terrible service quality! Be careful when you present your credit card! You might get charged without your knowledge!
