Overview

The jewel of Fiji's northern islands, Qamea is a breathtakingly beautiful island of dramatic lush, green, tropical jungle clad hills and white sand beaches.

Qamea Resort and Spa is an exclusive tropical destination for discerning travelers seeking a truly unique and authentic Fijian experience without sacrificing luxury or service. From the moment you step onto the island, you will feel as if you have entered a Fijian village set in a South Pacific tropical paradise.

Our ongoing commitment to providing affordable luxury accommodation is just one of the reasons why we received numerous awards such as one of the "Top Ten Hideaway Resorts in the World" by the Robb Report, and more recently finalist by Conde Nast Johansens 2011 Global Awards for "most excellent romantic hideaway."

We are very fortunate to have General Managers with a long history working in the gourmet food industry, having owned and managed several restaurants in the South Pacific. Along with our five full time Fijian chefs, they have more than 100 years of gourmet cooking experience.

The cuisine at Qamea can best be described as South Pacific Rim, which is similar to California Cuisine. Our fruits and vegetables are organic, and if not from our own gardens, are flown in three times a week from New Zealand. All of our seafood is local, caught daily by Qamea fishermen. Our beef and poultry is also flown in from Australia and New Zealand.

For breakfast we offer a full menu from which to order, with favorites such as papaya French toast or mango pancakes (seasonal). For lunch and dinner, the menus change daily, and you will always have a choice of two entrees (starters) and three mains with at least one vegetarian option. Every afternoon at around 4PM afternoon tea and homemade cakes or pastries are served, and snacks are always available between meals.

At Qamea, we include a complimentary continental breakfast. We also offer full meal inclusive rates and an In House Dining Meal Plan. Please contact us, or your favorite travel agent, for full details.

We also offer a full bar service, and with our new temperature controlled wine cellar, an ever growing selection of Australian, New Zealand and other international wines. Qamea is widely known throughout Fiji for its excellence in food. You will not be disappointed!

Qamea and her neighboring islands offer a tropical paradise of adventure and beauty. Guests can avail themselves of a wide range of complimentary activities including incredible snorkeling, hobie cat sailing, windsurfing, sea canoeing, hiking, croquet, visiting one of the local villages and lots more. Our diving is also world renowned, and with a fully equipped PADI accredited 5 Star dive facility our diving staff can introduce you to an underwater adventure you will long remember.

Qamea Resort & Spa have partnered with luxury surf pioneers, Tropicsurf, to bring undiscovered, un-crowded and untapped surf breaks in North Fiji to the forefront of Luxury surf trip enthusiasts' minds. Between November and April, Tropicsurf will offer an expert Western guide located onsite. From the moment guests step onto the island, they will feel as if they have entered a Fijian village set in a luxurious South Pacific tropical paradise, and will now have the option to surf the secluded and untapped breaks of North Fiji.

During your stay at Qamea Resort & Spa, take time to unwind and delight your senses with treatments in our new Jungle Spa, or if you prefer, in the privacy of your Bure or Villa. Qamea Spa offers an extensive menu of Fijian body therapies and French facial therapies featuring Guinot products that relax, rejuvenate, revitalize and renew your mind, body and soul.

Qamea is romance defined. Reserve a romantic afternoon on honeymoon beach - a totally private beach just minutes from our resort. You will be whisked away by boat and dropped off on the beach with a picnic lunch and some snorkel gear. Let us know when you want to return and we will pick you up later in the day. Our Fijian chef will pack a picnic lunch and a bottle of champagne or wine, and a boat will ferry you over to this most romantic of beaches.

Review:   Recommended for: Honeymoons and Romantic Celebrations!

Pros: We spent 7 beautiful nights in the Royal Beach House! It was amazing, our own private pool, an outdoor rock shower and the beach just steps away! A chilled bottle of Champagne was waiting for us in our bure and they had placed fresh tropical flowers everywhere…talk about romance, romance was everywhere! The staff was amazing, we have never felt such a warm welcome The food was beyond our expectations. A bounty of fresh tropical fruit every morning & strong coffee, a perfect start to the day. Fresh fish every night pared with New Zealand & Australian wines. We spent our days on the beach, snorkeling right off the beach seeing a wide variety of colorful tropical fish & kayaking in the beautiful blue lagoon! Our evenings were filled with memories of the Qamea Band playing Fijian favorites as we gazed into the sunset, chatting with the other guests & staff and ending the night with a dip in our private pool! I also experienced one of Qamea's signature Jungle Spa massages. As I walked the tropical path to the spa I was yet again in awe by the beauty that is synonymous to Qamea. As I got closer the steps ascended into a forest canopy of emerald green. The Spa itself is a very serene and calming place with low music and delicious scented candles to set the mood. I was asked what type of massage we would like in terms of pressure. I said firm. Over the next hour I was at the mercy of the lovely Charlotte and she worked her way through all of the kinks and knots. It was true bliss & such a treat.I left the spa feeling like the weight of the world was lifted with my entire body feeling moisturized and pampered. My husband tried a new activity at Qamea; stand up paddle boarding! The activity boys at Qamea were on hand to give instruction & even went out into the lagoon with him. It was time to say good bye; we found tears in our eyes as the staff sang the Fijian farewell song, Isa Lei. . .

Cons: None.
