Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   This hotel has a fantastic location. Other than that the rooms are comfortable appointed with basic toiletries. On this visit the room service (club sandwich) was terribly presented and cold, half the order was missed and the drinks mixed up. I’d recommend to eat in one of the restaurants close by and take away is only a 5min walk (I was very lazy on this occasion and exhausted hence the room service). If you like to excercise the park is next door and the walk along the river is beautiful in the early morning and late evenings. The staff at the hotel are friendly, I opted for the discount of $10 a day off my food bill by not having my room serviced (be warned they actually don’t do anything) but that was fine with me !!

Review:   Stayed overnight here courtesy of Virgin Airlines after their flight changes caused me to stay in Brisbane. My driver taking me to the hotel said, I was lucky to be put up in about the best hotel in Brisbane. On arrival, luggage was taken care of, speedy checkin, friendly service. Stylish foyer , grand staircase and decor. I had 3rd floor, King room- was lovely, clean, with balcony overlooking pool and city view. Huge bathroom with TV. Super comfy bed. Well appointed room, robes, slippers. Quality Room service food nicely presented.

Review:   Really enjoyed my night there. So many restaurants are close by and the location is very central and pretty. We had a great view from our room. I mentioned it was our anniversary on my booking and we were gifted a bottle of sparkling wine for the duty manager which was so thoughtful but very nice. Will stay again!

Review:   Food and accommodation fantastic. Service very hit and miss. Booked the romantic package approximately $500 for the night. We had to contact reception 3 times to get some extra pillows for my pregnant wife. Then the in room breakfast was brought in the next morning and I was embarrassed for taking my wife there. I had bought this package years ago and the attendant moved chairs to make space and unfolded the table and got all the food out. This time the attendant pushed the cart in and left it. So myself and my 8 month pregnant wife are trying to drag furniture round, open up the table and when we finally get it set up opened the butter sachets only to be covered in molten butter. I have always rated the Stamford as the best of the big 3 hotels in Brisbane but last stay in the city chose the Sofitel. Good decision!

Review:   Attended a professional event and it was very nice! The hotel provided a delicious breakfast and coffee service. No complaints, if I had to nitpick I'd say I could have done with some water, the pitchers on the table were all juice which was nice but I would have liked some water after all the food and coffee. But everything was gorgeous and my server was sweet and funny and she did a lovely job (thanks Ramona!)
