Spectacular Eco Resort and Accommodation in Tonga on a Pristine Tropical Island. We have created this tropical paradise retreat ensuring we have minimal impact on the environment. With comfortable accommodation, a variety of water and land based activities, delicious organic cuisine, stunning scenery and a dedicated team to cater to your needs you will find Mounu Island Resort the perfect Island Escape.
The main complex houses, the restaurant and the Moby Dick bar, office, well stocked library and guest toilets. Communications to the outside world are by mobile telephone, VHF radio and we have wireless internet connection so you can work if you so desire.
Mounu utilizes solar power to supply 12, 24, 110 and 240 volt. We carry adapters so your camera/phone/video can be charged in the main building. Rain water is collected at the main complex and double filtered for drinking.
Pathways through the bush connect you to the main complex. We have a planting program underway on the island with native Kauri, Cedar and Mahogany being planted.
Mounu in Tongan means ‘bait fish’. Huge schools of sardines congregate in the shallow waters around the Island. The Humpback Whales can be spotted from your fale from the months of July – October. Turtles have been known to nest on the Island during the Summer months.
