Review:   Recommended for: Romantic getaway when you stay in the adults only Edgewater Bures oceanfront area of the resort

Pros: Last November Koro Sun opened 10 Edgewater bures that are right over the ocean. Each bure is set on an angle for maximum privacy and feature your own private ladder into the water. The adults only area also features a gorgeous pool, complete w/cocktail service. .

Cons: Koro Sun is set on 160 acres. If walking is difficult for you, just let them know and they will arrange for a golf cart to transport you.

Review:   Recommended for: Families, scuba divers

Pros: I am so excited about Koro Sun! Even though the resort has been open since 2000, it improves with age under the watchful and dedicated eyes of its Owners Jack & Patsy. Koro Sun is located on 160 acres--ocean side, on the Eastern side of Fiji, replete with palm trees, waterfalls, rain forests, pink & white lily pads in the flowing creeks running through the property, tropical birds and crickets singing, red hibiscus, fragrant frangipani, purple & pink bougainvillea to tease your eyes and colorful leaves the size of your head. Due to its vast size, there is plenty of room to run, roam and explore. Also plenty of room to separate the honeymooners and the family guests, yet giving each one an amazing authentic Fiji experience. The big news is the 10 new Edgewater bures located (as the name states) along the waters edge of the property. There is also a gorgeous new lounge, swim up bar and reception area for adults only. The bures are decorated using the finest Fiji wood and local handicrafts. On the deck of each bure is located a step-ladder into the sea for immediate access to the fish so be sure to pack your mask & snorkel! The family bures, ranging from 2-5 bedrooms are gorgeous and offer all of the amenities important to families like full kitchens, separate living rooms etc., including their NEW BULA BUDDY program! When a family travels with 1-3 children between the ages of 4-12, Koro Sun provides a Nanny or Bula buddy for the children. They spend time teaching your children their Fijian culture, exploring in and around the rain forests, pools and beaches and have so much fun I wouldn't be surprised if the parents end up following them around! For a fee, they do also offer Nanny service for smaller children so the parents can reconnect with some private time, whether spending it snorkeling one of the world class reefs, experiencing an amazing banana leaf couples massage in the award winning rainforest spa or enjoying a private beach picnic alone.

Cons: About the only thing I could say is that there's the additional flight across Fiji to get there.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Our experience is one we will never forget. We are now lucky enough to call the people who work their our friends. Mary rose, Mavis, Brett and never forget junior. And all the others I can't name. Their smile lit up Koro. We had perfect days. Snorkelling. The private beach picnic is a must. And the day finishing with drinks in the wai bar. A beautiful infinity pool bar that over looks the most incredible sunsets. While junior is mixing you a tinks tropicana.

Review:   This is a quaint budget-resort and it feels like it. They have a few newer bures which are nice but as a whole this shouldn't be classified as a 4-star resort. The people were very friendly, our activity guide, Dobes, was just the best and they had really good massages. The actual hotel itself if a little run down, outdated. We had a bure that was right on the water but you notice in the photos that low tide means the water moves out like 30 meters twice a day and there isn't really any normal sandy beach to relax on. We also found it difficult to get even slightly tipsy as there was only one bartender making service quite slow and they didn't start serving drinks until around dinner.

Review:   If you come across any negative reviews of Koro Sun I would advise to take them with a grain of salt. This resort, or really any place you travel to outside of your home country is all about setting your expectations. With Koro Sun, you should set your expectations as such: - Expect a much more authentic Fijian experience than your big name hotels - Expect peace and quiet, and to just take in the natural beauty of this place - Expect the food to be a little less fresh and possibly a smaller selection than normal (you're on an island off another island after all!) - Expect everything to take a little longer, because what's the rush anyway? Fiji time is a real thing! - Expect there to be bugs, frogs, fish and other wildlife co-habiting the surrounds with you - Expect the Wi-Fi to be unreliable and slow, but still appreciate that it's there at all - Expect a Bula! Every time you walk past a staff member - Expect the staff to know your name after a day or two - Expect to feel part of the family, as the people here are some of the kindest and most generous you will ever meet Koro Sun is such an experience and one we will never forget. Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

Review:   Can't say enough good things about this place. The staff is super nice and always helpful. I don't personally have kids but we stayed with several groups of friends who all had kids and the staff was so great with them. The kids were begging to go to the kids zone and hang out with the staff. Its a beautiful resort and the staff is incredible.

Review:   This Fajian resort was a wonderful location to spend our honeymoon at. Very friendly and accommodating staff enhanced our trip greatly. Their Edge water villas were awesome (just realise your in the tropics so expect to run into wasps/ bugs and gekos). We hope to return, and highly recommend this slice of paradise.
