Overview

Kingfisher Bay Resort was voted the Best Beach Resort in Australia by 'Discovery's Travel Channel' and has won six Australian Tourism and nine Queensland Tourism Awards. The stunning property, complete with mirror lakes and waterholes, blends seamlessly with the island's sensitive ecological systems.

We pride ourselves on setting benchmarks in environmental tourism and as the winner of the inaugural Steve Irwin award for ecotourism, live and breathe this philosophy in the resort, from our award-winning architecture to our landscaping.

All of our accommodation has been designed to minimise any effects on the natural environment, conserve energy and minimise waste. An onsite worm farm turns waste into compost for the resort's gardens and recycling is a must.

Native bird and wildlife are easily spotted from the walkways, private hotel verandas or outdoor pools. Our interpretive Rangers are locals who are passionate about Fraser and are happy to share their knowledge at the drop of a hat, as part of the resort's action-packed activity schedule, or showcase the beauty spots on a guided-tour.

Whether romantic indulgence, a business retreat, family-fun holiday or wilderness adventure is on the cards, a visit to Kingfisher Bay Resort can also be a lifestyle-changing experience.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   What a fantastic place to stay. I was amazed at what it had to offer seriously you need 3 to 4 days to really enjoy the different the island, it has a 4x4 bus ride that makes you feel you entered the Paris Dakar across the island to a 75mile long beach that has an 80km speed limit its crazy. You stop halfway get onto a small plane go for a 15min flight see whales and many features the island has but can only view from the air. They have 3 different restaurants offering family style kids food to a top end Restaurant. Fantastic swimming pools. The staff are super friendly the sunset beach is unbelievable.......overall its a holiday wuth a difference! Worth every penny!

Review:   Great place to base a Fraser Island escape. Part of Mercure Group. Variety of food options and prices, but room for improvement in taste & temperature.
