The Hunter Valley offers you a choice of coast and country, wilderness and wineries and a glimpse of genuine country life in its historic towns.

Over 100 wineries are spread across sweeping vine-lined hills where generations of family winemakers are still onsite and inviting you to try their white and red varieties while telling their tales.

The region is also renowned for its exquisite regional produce, such as cheeses, olive oil and olives as well as over 60 restaurants with acclaimed chefs adding their own unique but distinctly Australian style.

For those seeking an active pursuit you can walk or ride your way through a handful of wineries creating your own Hunter Valley wine experience or try your hand at a swing of golf at one of the Hunter Valley's world class golf courses.

The Hunter Valley is also building its reputation as home to some of Australia's most spectacular events. 'The Lovedale Long Lunch' and 'Semillon and Seafood' celebrates the region's world class wine and food while a smooth melody of food, wine and music culminate for the 'Jazz in the Vines' and 'Opera in the Vineyards'.

Another aspect of the Hunter Valley unknown to many visitors and within close proximity of the wine growing region is the Barrington Top National Park featuring pristine rainforests with kilometres of hiking trails offering peace, quiet and superb scenery including native animals and birds.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Lovely place to stay at the Hunter and very reasonably priced. Accommodation was clean and tidy, with everything you need. Food at the restaurant was also lovely. But what stood out was the great service!!! We will definitely be back 😊

Review:   Amazing!! We held our wedding at The Guest House on Saturday 30th April 2016. We had the most perfect day! The Management, especially, and the staff were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond for us and made our day all the more special. We had accommodation for the weekend and held our ceremony under the beautiful big tree on the front lawn as well photos around the property, which is just stunning! Our reception was held on site and the food...incredible!! So many of our guests commented on how great everything was. This truly was the most memorable day and weekend of our lives. I highly recommend The Guest House to anyone for a weekend away and not to mention the most important day of your life! Thank you again, so much. From a very happy Bride and Groom!

Review:   This place was just stunning- the grounds were peaceful and beautiful, the staff was helpful and always friendly, and the Italian restaurant was so so good. My husband and I are vegetarian and we had no issue with food at the restaurant. The rooms were comfortable, clean and just lovely. Will definitely be staying here again!

Review:   Staff were fantastic and so attentive. The grounds are nestled in to the Bush and great for walking around. The accomodation was perfect with rooms on the ground floor coming with French doors opening out to the Bush. Able to hire bikes and late checkout. Would definitely stay again.

Review:   Peppers was a good 'middle of the road' type accommodation. The staff were pleasant and very helpful, and get full marks. The grounds are lovely and quiet. It's just the rooms that are a bit of a let down. Our room was pleasant and comfortable enough, but definitely showed signs of age. The bathroom was very dated in appearance. Two of the ceiling lights were dead. The TV is very old and small. The soundproofing is subpar, given we could very easily hear things in other rooms. There were several long hairs in the bedding. That being said, it's not a bad place at all, but just not up to some of the other standards of accommodation at other Hunter Valley options.
