Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   With a location right on the beach and local cafes within easy walking it couldn't be better. Great restaurant with very tasty menu, the food is first class. All rooms face the beach. Highly recommended.

Review:   The restaurant is pricey but the food is exceptionally good - highly recommended! Their romance package is good value but few of the staff understand the inclusions so make sure you are aware of what's included. The rooms are a little dated but very comfortable with great views.

Review:   Mission Beach is a place not to miss. 14 km of fine, sandy beach, almost without any tourist in June. Since the luxury ressort on opposite Dunk Island was destroyed by a cyclone, the Castaway Hotel seems to be the only possibility for a stay in a reasonable hotel. Okay, but not great. Make sure to take a short detour to MB South and visit Kennedy Bay. A nice and easy 2-3 hour trail. But watch out for the tide (and crocodiles). If the way back is blocked, it is still possible to circle back to MBS by continuing on the trail. Make sure you have a well charged smart phone / map with you though.
