Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Love the service here. The staff are great and very helpful. Rooms fit the tropical environment and housekeeping is doing an outstanding job. Only two remarks - the lovely Merchant Cafe which is great for all day food should stay open a little longer than 3PM and the gym is in a terrible condition. Should add some equipment- Bench press, Cables, Shoulder Press, etc - not a place to work out properly and had to go to one of the local gyms. Otherwise great as always.

Review:   Can't say enough about how helpful and accomodating the staff at this hotel were for our weeks stay. The concern expressed and assistance given when we needed medical care, was over and above the staffs duty. The food was excellent in all areas including room service. We especially appreciated the breakfast service and staff. The room was spacious and comfortable, with all needs met. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and in future will always stay here.

Review:   Hotel is nice very clean but outdated. Breakfast was limited. Security at gaming room were absolutely disgusting and very offensive. Proceeded to the front to enter and was interrogated about being intoxicated and on drugs! When we were sober! Apparently you can’t be happy in this place?.... Guess they haven’t had proper training. Won’t return in future.

Review:   Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. We booked this as our first port of call after travelling from England to Australia as somewhere to help us relax and unwind after our long journey and were not disappointed! The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and you are always greeted with a smile. We had room service for breakfast on our first morning which was absolutely delicious and we plan on visiting Tamarind restaurant again during our trip here. We had such amazing views from our hotel room with a balcony overlooking the rooftop pool and a view of the sea and the harbour we were spoilt for choice of scenery! Really well located hotel too, not too central so quiet but an easy walk in to all the varied shops and art galleries of Cairns. The room was spotless and a good size with a luxurious spa bath and separate shower and separate toilet. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable and helping provide a relaxing atmosphere for us to get over our jet lag and start our Australian adventure!

Review:   I stayed here for two nights while visiting Cairns for work. The rooms were very high class with a spa bath in the room. They also have a gym area and sauna. There was also a very nice restaurant down stairs that do a wonderful buffet breakfast. All the staff were terrific and very helpful.
