Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   While staying at the lodge my partner and I booked High Tea on Sunday to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately upon seating we were told there would be no buffet as advertised and as other guests had experienced. Instead we got a couple of party pies, stale sandwiches and cakes and a mousse that tasted like pure peppermint extract. $49 for half a sandwich and a party pie is rediculous. If you’re not throwing the buffet maybe let the customer know. It was incredibly disappointing on our anniversary. On top of this I ended up sleeping on the small couch by the third night as the beds, which aren’t kind but two singles pushed together, gave me horrific back pain. After reading such good reviews I was so disappointed in our stay. The only positives were the lovely staff and view.

Review:   Room was fantastic with a lovely garden view. Very polite and friendly staff, although there was a wait to be served at the bar as it was unmanned. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Review:   Nice place and kind staff. However, some rooms smell a bit like a mould and there seems to be some limitations with spa. Restaurant food is AMAZING. Improving cooperation with spa and smell of the rooms would be a HUGE improvement!

Review:   Great environment. Rooms are laid out well. The closed community through the golf course makes for a great walking trail

Review:   Nice grounds but the hotel itself was below expectations. In the rooms the furniture was a bit cheap and ratty, floors were not well vacuumed, king bed was just two single beds smooshed together, and some of the basic amenities you expect in a typical 5 star suite such as coffee and microwave weren't there. Kinda annoyed that we pre-paid for a suite and were initially given keys for a basic room which smelled of stale cigarette smoke before we returned to the reception desk to rectify the issue. The food was ok and the staff were helpful but I don't think I would stay there again.
