Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Positives: Friendly staff, clean reception, TV in room. Negatives: room was TINY, hard to move! Bathroom was so small you sat on the toilet and your legs were in the shower! 2 guests checked in, we were given one towel. No floor towel, nothing, just one bath towel. Pillows were hard. Coffee pods didn't fit in the coffee machine. Room looked old. I can't believe this place charges what they do! From 0915am I had two knocks on the door for house keeping, I hadn't even checked out yet!!! I don't recommend this place.

Review:   Stayed for my wife's birthday. They completely did up the room. Rose petals and bubbly. I couldn't have asked for better. Highly recommend

Review:   Great location just down the road from Federation Square. Tram stop nice and close on the nearest corner. $25 a day parking adjacent to hotel (which they validate). Disappointing room. First off they gave us a room with a queen bed instead of two singles. Then they shafted us to a room with no view and a king bed and made the maid split the king and remake it into two singles. The room was hot and stuffy. Despite the floor space there was no couch or coffee table to relax at before bed. We ordered room service. One of the best toasted sandwiches ever, but no dining table to eat it at. Just a study desk and two uncomfortable chairs. Beds too high.

Review:   Great hotel. Has character due to its age but that does detract from the quality of the rooms. Rooms are nicely fitted and designed. Toilet legroom was a little cramped though due to the bath placement in front of it. I'm 6'3" though.

Review:   Lovely staff very well spoken and ever so kindly to me a distressed visitor to Melbourne who required an opportunity to use the wifi they kindly assisted me to a room where I could use it. Thank you even though I didn't stay there I would like the Management to know their staff were impeccable and very generous with visitors.
