Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Beautiful old hotel, great friendly staff. Awesome city views from roof top swimming pool area. Satisfying breakfast available. No biscuits available with in room tea and coffee facility. Very knowable staff. Overnight parking tricky but available :)

Review:   Hotel had broken elevator for some length of stay. There was also construction going on outside that started at 7 in the morning. I did not see a ramp for handicapped people to enter the building. Workout room was small with low ceiling. I ended up using First Fitness nearby. My room itself was very comfortable and well equipped. Staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant was surprisingly good. Breakfast at the hotel had a good selection

Review:   I was recently at this hotel awaiting a guest for a while and had the unpleasant opportunity to witness a reception staff treat ethnic customers in an absolutely appalling manner. She was talking down to them, extremely heavy handed, judgemental and rude in her manner. Does this lady not know the first principles of hospitality?? Or does the hotel not care about its guests to choose people like her represent them?? There was another gentleman doing the same job right next to her and he was fine. I do not know her name but she was on duty on 25/05/2018 and was in a tight bun with glasses on. I will never, ever recommend this hotel if this lady's behaviour is accepted by any hotel as a way to treat guests.

Review:   Stayed in room 1705, got a very welcome comimentary upgrade to the premier king room. Room is lovely, bathroom is very clean and spacious, and views were great (if it wasn't for some cranes right outside my window, but that's hardly the fault of the hotel) breakfast is good with ample variety, but not as large as some other hotels. Still very tasty. Would rate 4.5 stars if Google allowed half star ratings. Some minor points have to be taken off for sub-par shower pressure, however my particular room had a ceiling mounted large showerhead which distributed water sufficiently enough to make this less of an issue. My room had a cracked window which appears to have been 'fixed' with some painters tape. Minor crack at the top, but still not the best thing to look at. Otherwise, great hotel with great reception staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Review:   The rooms were nice and simple, nothing too fancy. Staff were nice and helpful but when we had our rooms cleaned whilst we were out they took my pillow case off due to being dirty, chucked it on the floor and didn't replace the cover with a new one. Most hotels I've been too you don't see cleaners through the hallways but you could see almost everything they did which didn't seem very professional. Location was perfect though.
