Centurion Palace
Modern and contemporary are two concepts that fit Venice like a glove as this is a city which has undergone endless changes down the centuries. And it is in Venice, next to the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, and between the Punta della Dogana and the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, looking directly onto the Grand Canal, St. Mark's Square and the Giudecca that we find the Centurion Palace.
Overlooking St. Mark's Basin at the mouth of the Grand Canal, Centurion Palace is housed in the former convent of Palazzo Genovese. Rooms and suites have a contrasting modern influence and there is a private garden, butler service and a gourmet restaurant. Expect peace and tranquillity in this relatively quiet area of Dorsoduro, virtually next door to the famous landmark, Santa Maria della Salute. Each room and suite is individually decorated in contemporary style, many of which have dreamy, mystical city views. This provides a great base for exploring the city. Walk to the lively Campo Santa Margherita with its numerous cafes and afterwards visit the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. Return for early evening cocktails in the garden or at the corner bar by the canal before dining in the hotel restaurant on haute Mediterranean and creative cuisine. Centurion Palace is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.
The name Centurion refers to the ancient Roman coin depicting Antinous, who was famous for his friendship with the Emperor Hadrian, which was discovered when the building was being restored. The Centurion Palace, which is on the area of the Monastery of San Gregorio, has kept its splendid Venetian-Gothic facade, but just step inside and you find yourself in a magical ambience which blends luxury with the latest fashion trends.

Overview
Land and sea, light and shadows, Venice and Rome. The Centurion Palace, which is the Sina Group's newest property, is an intriguing play of contrasts. The façade in airy Venetian Gothic style, like a beautiful piece of old lace, conceals modern accents, design features, strong colours and the unique atmosphere inside the hotel.
We are in one of Venice's oldest districts, next to the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, between the Punta della Dogana and the Peggy Guggenheim Museum with direct access to the Grand Canal, and facing the spectacular vista of St. Marks's and the Giudecca.
And here, right in the heart of Venice, Rome beckons us. Because during the restoration on the building they unearthed a money of Antinous, a favourite of the Roman emperor Hadrian, in whose honour this hotel was named the Centurion Palace.
