Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Such an amazing resort. My mom had a medical emergency and ended up in a wheelchair. The staff was so good to us during a difficult time. It is expensive, but worth the splurge if you can afford it. Room had everything we needed and was very clean. There is good snorkeling near the resort, but the water was too rough while we were there to enjoy it. The pool was nice, and the food place by the pool was the only place we ate at on the resort - delicious.

Review:   We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe island view Villa. It was very spacious and well equipped. The pools are large and don't feel crowded. The chairs are some times taken all before 10 AM but you can find space in less ideal locations. The beach is a little narrow but the water is great. The shuttle service to the other side of Black Rock and into town is very convenient. the valet guys are great. Would definitely come back.

Review:   Nice, clean, great food in restaurants, awesome views of the ocean and the sunset from certain rooms. Can be a bit crowded with kids, and around jacuzzi/lounge chairs during the day. Outdoor grills and full kitchen with dishes and utensils is nice to have. Nearby Safeway is open 24 hours and has some grilling choices. Self parking is at an extra fee. SPG Platinum treatment is great, use breakfast for a gift (which is otherwise $26 or so at the breakfast buffet). Beach chair and umbrella rental is also steep, at 40$ per day.

Review:   This is a wonderful place to stay. Rooms are clean, staff is nice and helpful and the beach is fabulous. You can get a great glimpse of whales breaching from the beach if you're here during whale season. The beach is a bit rocky in many places, which is great for snorkeling, but don't be surprised if you get a scratch or two (wear water shoes if you're worried) Food options are on the pricier side, but still delicious if you're looking for a bite to eat while you relax poolside. My favorite is Auntie's, which is good for any meal (including great happy hour deals!). If you're looking for good local food though, look elsewhere, off-resort.
