Review:   Recommended for: Families

Pros: Great location on Ka'anapali beach. Fun swimming pool layout, especially for kids. Easy walk to the shops, various restaurants.

Cons: Like all hotels on this beach, it's a big high-rise hotel, so you're sharing the beach with a lot of people during busy seasons. If you're looking for privacy and solitude, consider the Hana area perhaps.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   In the line of big hotel chains along the coast line the Westin is a large complex which caters for families but also offers business facilities. They are planning a huge upgrade starting end of the year which will affect the whole complex. We saw the suggested new rooms in the beach tower which will be light fresh and modern. I was lucky enough to have an ocean view room in the main complex overlooking the pool area and the ocean. The room was big with the typical Westin comfy bed and an open plan bathroom (shower and toilet separated of course)..complimentary coconut water and refreshing cold towels available as well. The balcony enjoys full sun so it's a bit warm to sit there. The waterfall in the garden is pretty noisy though so best to leave the windows closed. The hotel is huge with lots of shops and a Starbucks (terrible service..)...towels and water sport activities are offered at the beach and pool as well as deckchairs and umbrellas. The lifts take forever which is not great given the large amount of guests it holds. Staff is friendly though and it's close to the shops as well so one never has to go far for anything

Review:   Wonderful staff at the front desk & concierge. The main renovated building is fantastic. I'd recommend spending the extra money to get an ocean view. The pool is fantastic, especially for families / small kids. It's far larger than the surrounding resorts. Excellent beach front to play on as well. The staff at the top of the water slide are truly clueless. Don't even remotely view them as lifeguards...They are glorified college kids playing with their cell phones & totally tuned out. A bit concerning if you think your kids are being supervised. Also, as with all the surrounding Maui resorts, there are zero life guards at the resort or public beach. Highly recommended resort. I've visited 5 times now.

Review:   My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and I’ll say that for the most part, this hotel was great! The free shuttle offered was a great touch, especially if you want to go out and have a few drinks with dinner. The pools were great to use and the staff was awesome. The breakfast buffet in our package was great, along with the other restaurants on site. However, there were a few problems that really bothered us. First of all, they were doing construction about 3 floors above us and we were told that you wouldn’t be able to hear it. That was completely false. We could hear absolutely everything. And this was with our supposed “upgraded room”. While they only did it during the day, we were never able to relax or nap in the room without hearing it. Second of all, they only offered valet parking, which we were not informed until we got there. They already charge a $30/day resort fee, so to add another $30/day on top of that for parking, really adds up. My last complaint was at the adult pool. They really should be more on top of this because I watched many kids get into the hot tub and pool while staff just walked on by. It was other guests that had to say something to the kids. But like I said before, we really liked the hotel for the most part and would still recommend it as long as your not in the same building of construction!

Review:   Really nice hotel. The rooms are alright but the pool and beach are very nice. If you plan on paddle boarding do it in the morning. I waited until the afternoon on my last day and was very disappointed. The wind picks up and they can't allow people to paddle board or kayak. The hotel common areas were very busy with people. Check out the Westin nanea. That's an incredible hotel.

Review:   A wonderful experience from the moment we checked in. We stayed 7 nights. Hotel staff are VERY helpful, kind and professional. The rooms are lovely and very clean. The hotel is staffed well and therefore rarely have to wait for anything. Pools and grounds are immaculate! It truly is magical! Worth every penny!! Thank you Maui Westin, we will be back!!
