Black Rock, or Pu`u Keka`a in Hawaiian, is known as an Ancient Hawaiian holiday retreat for royalty (Ali`i). As in olden days, there are endless ocean activities such as clear-water snorkeling with turtles, sailing on the Teralani, kayaking with dolphins, scuba diving and deep sea fishing, all nearby our spectacular 23-acre ocean-front resort.

In addition to Ka'anapali Beach, the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa offers a plethora of Hawaiian cultural activities to help you experience the Spirit of Aloha. Spend your days learning the ancient art of Hula, adorning yourself with fresh flower leis created by you or learning the ukulele with our Aloha Ambassadors.

Nearby, the charming town of Lahaina promises even more fun and exciting experiences including entertainment, cultural events and world-class shopping and dining.

The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is the premier location for a dream Hawaiian vacation. Situated on Kaanapali Beach, the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is the most romantic escape in all the Hawaiian Islands… the dramatic point at which the legendary Black Rock of Kaanapali meets the ocean. Anchored by the Black Rock itself, this spectacular Maui hotel beckons hopeless romantics, discerning honeymooners, and fun-seeking families.

Almost all of our 508 rooms and suites directly face the Pacific, with a private lanai for contemplating the view. Inside, the craftsmanship of old Hawai'i reveals itself in lamps of bamboo design, patterns recalling block prints on kapa, and rattan chairs drawing on the peacock shapes of ancient thrones.

Our unique 'Ohana (Family) Suites encompass two spacious and adaptable rooms. And at the pinnacle of Pu'u Keka'a, an atmosphere of exclusivity reigns. On the highest level rises the Ali'i Suite, surrounding you with prized artwork, from authentic koa bowls and drums to original Matson menu covers from the 1930s whose images have defined Hawai'i for generations.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is proud to announce
we are a smoke free resort.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Review:   I went here for a work sponsored trip. It was the best vacation I've ever had. I stayed for a week and the staff is extremely attentive and will help you with all kinds of things. This resort has it's own section of the beach that you can walk to. There is also a cliff that a bunch of people like to jump off of. I would just bring some water shoes because the rocks are sharp. The resort has a few little food carts around and there are plenty of restaurants to go to on the island. The parking is fine, I can't remember how much it is but was reasonable and convienent. I didn't have my choice of places to stay because work paid for it but when (not if) I come back I'll choose Sheraton Maui again.

Review:   We visited Sheraton Maui for drinks and dinner at Cliff Dive Grill. The setting is just beautiful (right on the beach) and we were there in time to see the cliff dive ritual, long with hula dancing and live music. The drinks were delicious and the food was INCREDIBLE! I was very happy to find a vegan burger that could also be made gluten free. My partner enjoyed his pork tacos. Would recommend!

Review:   The resort is fantastic. Starting with the lobby, you get a great sense of how awesome this place is and how nice it is. You're overlooking the beach in just about every room and there is a great pool with a lazy river and a pool side bar and grill. The rooms are upscale with modern technology and are very pleasing. Our room opens up right into the large common grass area leading to the pool and ocean. I highly recommend this hotel and would look to stay here in the future.

Review:   We spent 10 days here. Resort is fine, but I expected more for the price. Our experience was hit or miss. Two days no housekeeping service. The last few days of our trip we had great housekeeping. One of the valets (Jeremy) was incredibly helpful and nice. Two others were so rude and forward regarding tipping that we started self-parking. We had breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant (Salt-something). It was okay, but I expected much better. Beach is nice, but super crowded. For the price, I’d recommend spending a touch more and going to the Ritz.

Review:   We stayed on the ground floor room 1102. Beach was a 1 minute walk; lazy river and pool same. The room was great - tub and separate shower. Tub had retractable clothesline for swim suits - nice touch. We shared a wall with a family with three young kids but never heard a thing. Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay at the Sheraton again.
