Overview

Whether you are one half of a couple on a romantic getaway or part of a big family seeking to enjoy quality time together, whether you would rather indulge in sensual spa therapies or spend an afternoon exploring the vibrant reefs, there is literally something for everyone.

One of the first Maldives island resorts to welcome guests, Kuramathi is an island of choice, offering a range of villas, numerous dining experiences, diverse facilities and, of course, welcoming and friendly service that the Maldives is known for. Located 56 kilometres west from Male' International Airport, the island is over 1.8km long. Guest villas are scattered around lush gardens, facing secluded areas of long beaches or poised over water. Many areas of the island remain untouched, inviting guests to leisurely stroll along deserted beaches or through virgin vegetation.

Guest villas are scattered around lush gardens, facing secluded areas of long beaches or poised over water. All villas can accommodate a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Deluxe Beach Villas, Beach Villas with Jacuzzi and Superior Beach Villas with Jacuzzi can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children.

In addition to the three main restaurants where international buffets are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Kuramathi offers six à la carte restaurants offering a range of cuisine to suit all palates. For something more romantic, why not book a dinner for two at our Serenade pavilion or enjoy a sumptuous picnic hamper at a location of your choice.

Six bars around the island serve classical and tropical cocktails. Depending on your mood, choose to watch stingray feedings, listen to mellow sounds of our two-piece band or while away the day sipping flavourful concoctions. Be spoilt for choice.

As one of the Maldives spa resorts, Kuramathi offers you an experience that is both remarkable and unforgettable, blending inner beauty with our surroundings and landscapes.

Each treatment offered at Kuramathi Spa for face and body, is performed according to medical analysis, carried out with an individually elaborated scheme.

The wellbeing of every guest is the ultimate goal.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Great location, close to the airport - a very short flight with a seaplane, the new part of the island (recent developments) are really nice - we were a little afraid, that it will be crowded but during our stay everything was fine. The sandbank is spectacular and a great place for a relaxing walk. There still are secluded places around the island. The plentiful bars and dining options make this an overall great destinations. Tip 1 - try scuba and book the private sunset speedboat cruise, it’s worth it! The staff is very nice (with some really minor exceptions). Tip 2 - if you are on select all inclusive, go for breakfast to Palm or other restaurant that open early - it will be less crowded and with table service. PS tip the cleaning staff - they will appreciate it a lot!!!

Review:   We stayed just for a few days at Kuramathi but it was totally worth it! Kurumathi Island has so many cool spots to hang out and relax. Our stay was so well organized from start to finish. We transferred by a speedboat to Kuramathi which took around 45 minutes. When we arrived we had a small tour around the island. What we loved is that you have so many option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Inguru restaurant is a really good lunch sport. We had the island barbecue dinner one night and the flambeed steak was fantastic especially the live show they made in front of our table. The sandbar is definitely the best spot to watch the sunset. We had two times in a raw an awesome sunset. The rooms are very comfortable in every way and super clean. The staff ensured that our house was immaculate on a daily basis and the receptionist was was very friendly and also extremly helpful. We will definitely come back to Kuramathi as soon as possible

Review:   Visited here in 2006 and again in 2011, absolutely LOVE the place, have heard that the upgrades done recently have taken some of it's unique character away, but I'd still go back without hesitation, stunning beaches, myriad of fishes... and dont get me started on the restaurants, the most amazing food I have ever tasted

Review:   Generally is a good resort, but for this price, in the water villa, the Jacuzzi shouldn't be in this state anyway. I have asked to change the room, and they said that many rooms have scratches anyway. The day after they changed the room but I had to wait for a long time at the reception to have my room changed. I didn't complain straight away so at the end I had the new room only in the last day.
