Le Maitai Poynesia is located in an ideal spot on the headland of
Matira Point, on the main island.

The resort has great views across the crystal clear lagoon and a wide sandy beachfront. It is built in the Tahitian style and there are four room categories offered including overwater bungalows.

All rooms are built in the traditional way using wood and natural materials and offer the following amenities: king-size bed, television, telephone, bathroom with shower, hairdryer. Most rooms have air-conditioning.

Two restaurants, along with the Maitai Polynesia Bar, welcome you throughout the day. They offer fine food and cocktails in a relaxed ambiance. Choose from a wide range of leisure pursuits from helicopter and Jeep safari tours, to ray and shark feeding or the simple relaxation of snorkeling off the beach.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Functional rooms, not much to complain about. Renovations going on at the moment, so they are working to improve some rooms. We stayed in an overwater bungalow (closer to the restaurant and beach). Water was shallow, so cant really swim from the deck. Reception staff were great.

Review:   Great Value and decent location. Other hotels were too expensive and those that were cheaper did not have a nice location. I would recommend Sofitel for anyone looking for the bang for your buck.

Review:   In scale from 1 to 5 my family and I we give 2,6 points (3 stars) for this hotel. It has a nice placement, good dishes in the Beach Restaurant and maybe some nice people in staff. But the hotel is bad in the room quality - you can smell fungus from the A/C and in the bathroom or the tap is stinking. Due to these facts we had to change room twice and still we'd complain, but we guessed this hotel is before reconstruction as we saw some renewed rooms and houses on stilts. Moreover, no fresh juices in both restaurants - what disappointed us as on Moorea we're served with fresh one; but what recompensed this "lose" was food and dessert in the Beach Restaurant! That made us giving 3 stars: 1 for room and staff (RECEPTION) and 5 for the Beach Restaurant. In general we wouldn't recommend to stay in this hotel. Here are better choices around. Nevertheless, if you want to eat well, maybe - if it possible for non-guests - you can eat some lunch or dessert in the Beach Restaurant :)

Review:   One of the most relaxing vacation spots I've ever had. Our rooms were always cleaned and maintained, the staff were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. Amazing Views!
