Half Day Mykonos With Beach Stop...A Value Shared TourExplore > Greece > Mykonos > Half Day Mykonos With Beach Stop...A Value Shared Tour
OverviewMykonos is a beautiful Greek Island that must be seen! Mykonos is a beautiful Greek Island that is famous for its windmills, the beautiful white houses, blue skies, narrow winding streets, a true pearl in the Aegean Sea. After being met at the cruise port, you will embark on this half day sightseeing and walking tour of Mykonos town setting off southwards towards the beach of Agios Loannis. You will pass the most beautiful beach of Ornos with yachts anchored offshore and the shoreline dotted with Tavernas. We then stop to enjoy the wonderful view of Delos Island where you will have the opportunity to capture the stunning views on camera. From here we will continue on to a traditional village and home of the Panagia Tourliana Monastery, located in Ano Mera in the center of the island. The Monastery was built by monks in 1542 and is rather impressive with a whitewashed exterior, a colored dome, and a beautiful marble fountain in the yard outside the church. Next, we will drive to Kalafati Beach for a 45 minute stop where you will be able to swim or purchase refreshments at the seaside cafe. (not included) After your beach break, we will venture to Mykonos town where we will begin our walking tour. Starting at the old town where you can admire the interesting architecture and enjoy the atmosphere of the narrow streets and alleys along the way, heading to Little Venice, so called because the houses and cafes are right by the water! You will also see the famous windmills, where grain was milled to make flour, and the cathedral of Paraportiani along with numerous chapels and traditional houses. After the walking tour is completed, you will have a choice to either head back to the cruise port with us, or if you prefer to stay in town to souvenir shop or experience a typical Greek salad in one of the local tavernas before making your own way back to port you may do so. - Please wear comfortable walking shoes, and your swimwear and towel if you wish to swim at Kalafati beach. - We recommend that you bring sunscreen, hat, and bottled water as it gets extremely hot at times. - Food, beverages, and gratuities are not included. - Entrance fees are not included. - A portion of this tour is a walking tour in Mykonos Old Town where it is a light walk, but may involve some gradual inclines. - This tour is not suitable for wheelchairs users since the sites do not have wheelchair access. - This tour requires a minimum of 4 participants for all cruise ships.
