Private Jeep Adventure - West Maui MountainsExplore > United States > Maui > Private Jeep Adventure - West Maui MountainsOverviewThis is the ideal adventure tour to discover the remote upper west side of Maui! With so many stunning views and interesting spots on this adventure tour, you will not be disappointed! There is a reason nobody has invented off road coach buses and frankly it comes down to the fact that Jeeps do it better. Take this chance to enjoy the beauty of "The Magic Isle" as you embark on a 4-wheel adventure that brings you up close and personal with some of the most spectacular views on Maui and you will discover the remote upper west side of Maui on this adventure jeep tour. The West Maui Mountains tour is perfect for those guests staying in Ka'anapali or Lahaina Town, and who have already experienced the Road to Hana. The West Maui Mountain is also known as Mauna Kahawalai, and is a destination with routes that offer the most breathtaking views. Traveling through the west region of the island even rivals that of the Hana highway. You will see lush rainforests and valleys, and neverending coastlines of Maui. You will also have the opportunity to discover pleasant towns along the way and quaint little shops where you can find a unique souvenir. During the tour, you'll have the option to stop at a variety of places, such as the Honokolua Bay. This is one our favorite hidden locations, and can only be accessed by a 4x4 vehicle, riding down a rough dirt trail. Another favorite spot is the historic town of Lahaina, which is the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii and is full of historical sites and boasts great restaurants and beaches. You will also have the opportunity to visit Iao Valley, filled with a beautiful rainforest, lush green mountains, beautiful streams, and Polynesian tropical plants. The Iao Valley is sacred and was forbidden to all but Hawaiian royalty. The sheer, inaccessible cliffs in Iao Valley were used as a burial site for Hawaii's ali'i for centuries. Ancient Hawaiian's believed that their bones contained their mana. (life energy) Desecrating or stealing bones could give power, control, and even cause harm to living descendants. You will also see Nakalele Blowhole, which shoots so high, that most of the time you can see it from the road. Nakalele Blowhole is a natural geyser where seawater trapped in an underwater lava tube is searching for a way to escape. With the pressure from the waves, it cannot go back the way it came in, so it erupts into a column of water up through a hole in the rock up to 100 feet in the air. The safest way to view Nakalele Blowhole is to stay on dry rocks, since it can be very dangerous if you get too close. Another stop will be Kahakuloa Village, an old Hawaiian village that is tucked into a valley and is home to about 100 residents who are direct descendants of the village's first inhabitants. Here you will find picturesque churches, a few small businesses, some amazing treats, and a popular art gallery. You must stop at Julia's Best Banana Bread for the most flavorful and moist banana bread you will ever taste! All in all, this is an adventure tour and experience you will never forget! - Soda, juice, water, and snacks will be provided. - Gratuities are not included. - We suggest you wear comfortable walking shoes since you will be walking on uneven surfaces. - This is a private tour, based on a minimum of 2 and maximum of 4 people per Jeep. - All participants need to be in good physical health and able to get into and out of the jeep which requires a step. - You will be required to furnish the weight of each passenger. - All stops are optional depending on weather, interest, and accessibility. - This adventure does not include the Pools of Ohe'o (Seven Sacred Pools) or the Pipiwai Trail. - - - Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
