OverviewTake a highly relaxing tour around Heraklion, the largest city in Crete! With this highly relaxing tour, we take a panoramic journey around Iraklion (Heraklion) - the largest city in Crete, founded by the Saracens in 824 - followed by leisure time at Karteros Beach. The beach is 3km long and is located at the end of Homomyn Gorge. Relax and enjoy one of the most famous beaches in the area, with its golden sands and turquoise waters. You will be met by a representative at the port of Iraklion (Heraklion). The representative will guide you to your air-conditioned tour bus, ready to commence your leisurely half-day tour. The tour begins with a drive through the picturesque town of Iraklion (Heraklion). Along the way your guide will give you information about the island of Crete and its largest town, Iraklion (Heraklion), which was founded by the Saracens in 824. Your drive will progress to the beautiful, white, long and sandy Karteros Beach, which is located at the end of Homomyn Gorge. Here, you can spend a couple of hours relaxing and taking in the Greek sunshine. On the beach you will find restaurants and bars, if you want to enjoy food and refreshments, or sunbeds and umbrellas are available (payable locally) if you'd like to relax on the sands. - Please wear comfortable footwear for this excursion as there is some walking on uneven ground, inclines and steps. - Bring swimwear and a towel. It is also recommended to take sunscreen and a sun hat, especially since it can get un-seasonably hot. It is recommended to drink plenty of water. - Meals, beverages and entrance fees are not included. - You have the option to rent umbrellas and sunbeds while at the beach. The cost of the amenities are not included in the tour and payable out of pocket locally. -Although there is light walking, there are still inclines, steps and uneven walking ground. -Collapsible wheelchairs are permitted on the tour, however, we do need to know this in advance. Please call our office before placing the booking so we can be sure there is room for the wheelchair. -Gratuity is not included. Although tipping is not compulsory, however, if you had an exceptional experience, tipping is the best way of saying "I think you did a fantastic job". - Please note this tour cannot wait for late arrivals past the scheduled departure time. Please arrive early, as we are unable to provide refunds if you miss the tour. Days offered: 7 days a week |
