Private - The Amazing Eva Peron And PeronismExplore > Argentina > Buenos Aires > Private - The Amazing Eva Peron And PeronismOverviewFew accomplish half of what Evita did during her short life. Revered by the lower classes, Eva Perón is a name known around the world as an advocate of those in need. Though her name was María Eva Duarte de Perón, she is better known as just Eva Perón or by the nickname Evita. As an Argentine actress, politician, activist, and philanthropist, her position as the First Lady of Argentina certainly elevated her to another level when she married Argentine President Juan Domingo Perón. From June 1946 until her death in July 1952, she ran the Ministries of Labor and Health, founded and ran the charitable Eva Perón Foundation, championed women's suffrage in Argentina, and founded and ran the nation's first large-scale female political party, the Female Peronist Party. She accomplished so much for the people in her short life, dying at the age of 33. Your guide is an essential part of this tour and will take you to places to see things that most people miss on their visit. At the Evita Museum, you will be able to listen to her famous speeches and learn about her early life. Her rise to prominence and the Peronism political movement made her an icon to the Argentinians. And you will learn how her husband recognized her power and helped her rise. During this tour you will see the public school where Evita, as well as many of the Argentina's working class sons and daughters, were able to access engineering school. Another essential stop on this journey is the Casa Rosada, which is where she addressed the people from the balcony, a famous scene in her life. Here you will also see other locations used in the filming of Madonna's 1996 movie, Evita. From here, you will pay your respects at her tomb in Recoleta Cemetery. The Tumba de Eva Perón sees thousands of visitors annually who celebrate her life.
