Dayna Johnson...Private: Wheelchair Accessible Rain Forest Aerial Tram Tour...October 1, 2019Explore > Chile > Punta Arenas > Dayna Johnson...Private: Wheelchair Accessible Rain Forest Aerial Tram Tour...October 1, 2019
OverviewExperience life among the tree tops of Costa Rica's rainforest. You will be met at the cruise ship pier by your guide, with a wheelchair accessible vehicle, waiting to show you the beauty of Costa Rica. The drive time of approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes will fly by as you make your way along beautiful stretches of Pacific coastline while your guide relates the history of Puntarenas. Leaving the city, your route crosses small rural towns, passes through the energetic beach town of Jacó, and drives along mountains and forests. Soon you will arrive at the Pacific Aerial Tram. The Aerial Tram is one of Costa Rica's most unique excursions, featuring gondolas (wheelchair accessible) that transport guests to the treetops of Costa Rico's rainforest. Each gondola comes with its own naturalist, bilingual guide to help guests experience and appreciate the rich ecosystem of Costa Rican rain forests. You will see different layers of the forest, from the floor to the treetops. The Costa Rica canopy is home to an enormous amount of flora and fauna; eager to find light and space, many plants have colonized the treetops, turning them into small, independently functioning ecosystems. You'll find the terrariums and gardens are wheelchair friendly, so take your time and explore these beautiful locations. A delightful lunch at the Aerial Tram Pacific Restaurant is also included in this tour. You'll be served a green salad, rice and beans or pasta pesto, meat or chicken, steamed vegetables and natural soda. - Please note that in Costa Rica there is some confusion about ship time vs. local time. Please see the purser on your ship to clarify whether your ship changes its time to local time so you don't miss your excursion. It is your responsibility to confirm this while you are sailing. - Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat. - Bring insect repellent, sunblock, binoculars, and a camera. - The rainy or “green season,” which typically brings sunny mornings and afternoon showers, lasts from May to November, but it's best to be prepared for rain at any time of the year. - This tour is wheelchair-accessible. Both your touring vehicle and the aerial tram can accommodate a wheelchair. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
