Private: Full Day Porto Discovery Tour - Group TripExplore > Portugal > Porto > Private: Full Day Porto Discovery Tour - Group TripOverviewA perfect day for groups of 7 or more! This full day exploration saves the best for last - a visit Porto's famous Port Wine Cellars. Try for yourself! Porto is one of the most impressive Portuguese cities with a certain feeling of rivalry towards Lisbon. Yet Porto is completely different. It's charms are discovered slowly and stay with you long after your visit. This half day introduction will provide just a taste of your exploration in Portugal. We'll begin the day in the heart of the city center, which also happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our first stop is the Church of São Francisco. Although the Gothic-style church has an unassuming exterior, the stunning interior is what gives the building the nickname "cave of gold". Your jaw will drop as you admire the intricate details of this memorable church. Our next stop, the Stock Exchange Palace, is another historic building with an incredible interior design. Previously the home to the stock exchange in Portugal before being relocated to Lisbon, this building displays incredible granite work and magnificent neo-Arab influences. After visiting the remarkable palace, we'll make our way to Porto Cathedral. On our way, we'll take some time to admire the São Bento Railway Station, home to the blue and white glazed tiles that are iconic to the city. Once we explore the cathedral, we'll cross the Duoro River via the D.Luis Bridge, following the aroma of slowly aging Port Wine. Our visit is to one of the famous Port Wine lodges that brought fame and fortune to the city. The massive vats improve the quality of a wine that can last for more than 100 years. During a guided visit of the wine cellars you will learn about its production, storage methods and all the secrets that make this nectar one of the most appreciated in the world. - As much takes place in the old city, a good portion of this tour is walking on uneven surfaces and inclines. - Food, beverages, and gratuities are not included in the tour. - Entrance fees are not included and must be paid on site. - Please dress comfortably and wear appropriate shoes.
