OverviewSee the sites and taste the best Helsinki has to offer! Get to the heart of Helsinki on our exclusive sites and bites walking tour. You'll get to see the key sites, and taste a bit of the local delicacies along the way. After meeting your guide, we'll take an easy walk through Esplanade park to the Market Place, which sits on the water front. Originally constructed in 1888, though recently restored, the Market Place provides the perfect location for an introduction of Finnish food. Your guide will lead you through the alleys showing you different products from both Scandinavian and Finnish culture. You'll stop at some of your guide’s favorite stalls and sample Finnish treasures such as smoked fish and Finnish pastries. A short walk will bring you to the open market square, where the stalls are overflowing with seasonal berries and vegetables. Sample 'what's growing' this week. From the Market Square we continue along Aleksanterinkatu passing the historical Senate Square to Cafe Fazer. Here you will have a chance to taste Finland´s best chocolate, Fazer chocolate, founded by the Finnish Fazer family. The family opened their first cafe in 1891 and it is still in the same location today. Fazer also produces salty liquorice (Salmiakki) which has been Finns favourite candy throught the centuries. If you're feeling brave enjoy a taste of this black delicacy - you'll either love it or hate it! Our time will conclude in central Helsinki and your guide will help make suggestions for the rest of your afternoon. - Dress comfortably and wear your favorite walking shoes. - As this is a walking tour, transportation is not included. You will take your cruise ship's shuttle bus into central Helsinki where you will meet your guide. - This tour is not available on Sundays. - Please note that the tour will end in the center of Helsinki. You will return to your cruise ship or hotel on your own by foot or by taxi. Days offered: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Departures:
