Unique Markets Of Thailand - Maeklong Railway And Damnoen SaduakExplore > Thailand > Bangkok > Unique Markets Of Thailand - Maeklong Railway And Damnoen Saduak
OverviewVisit two of the most unique markets in the world on this amazing tour! On this tour you will visit two of the most vibrant and bustling markets in Thailand. We begin the day with a drive outside the city of Bangkok to the towards the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Along the way, we will visit the famous Maeklong Railway Market. The Maeklong Railway Market offers everything you expect a Thai market to offer, but it differentiates itself from the other markets by having an active railway running through the middle. If the products for sale are not placed on the railway itself, they are placed extremely close to it. Every time the train is about to drive through, the vendors recognize the warning bell and they immediately jump out of their chairs to pull back their awnings and products so the train will not hit their belongings. The train runs through the market a few times per day. Right after the train has passed the stands, the vendors immediately place their belongings back at the railway and it looks like nothing has happened. After visiting this exciting market, we will continue the drive to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This world famous market has been around for over 100 years. It features numerous small boats laden with colorful fruits and vegetables, paddled by Thai women wearing bamboo hats, and is one of the only places to see this traditional way of buying and selling goods in Thailand. The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is almost always crowded with hundreds of sellers, buyers and tourists. The best way to experience the the bustling atmosphere of the market is to board a boat and float through the small canals. While aboard, you will be able to purchase fresh local produce from the vendors. This floating market is one of the most photographed places in Thailand and certainly a Bangkok icon. - Please wear comfortable walking shoes. - Please note there is surcharge pricing for all National and New Year holidays as well as peak season.
