Combo Tour--Private Victoria City Tour With Admission To Craigdarroch CastleExplore > Canada > British Columbia > Combo Tour--Private Victoria City Tour With Admission To Craigdarroch Castle
OverviewThis charming city is a nice alternative to cosmopolitan Vancouver--and one you shouldn't miss. Part of the fun of cruising is becoming acquainted with many different ports. That is why we selected this guide to show you the town. Get ready to discover Victoria, a place where the laid-back modernism of the West Coast blends with European, Asian and time-honored British traditions. During your fully-narrated tour of this splendidly clean, polite, and tourist-friendly city, you'll see North America's oldest Chinatown, as well as the picturesque Inner Harbor, Royal British Columbia Museum, Provincial Legislative Buildings, and Beacon Hill Park. As you wind along Marine Scenic Drive, you'll catch glimpses of the Olympic Mountains and the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Travel between the links of the Royal Victoria Golf Club (the second oldest club in North America) and enter the exclusive residential areas of Oak Bay and the Uplands. And speaking of exclusive residences, we will visit the impressive, stately Craigdarroch Castle. Built by coal baron Robert Dunsmuir for himself, wife Joan and 10 children, the castle is listed as a National Historic site. With a blend of French, Spanish and Italian Romanesque architecture, this stunning mansion boasts one of North America's finest collections of stained glass. Touring this home provides a glimpse of the privileged life led by the intriguing Dunsmuir family in the 1890's. Along the way, you'll also enjoy the spectacular, panoramic view of Victoria from the top of Mt. Tolmie, the Lieutenant Governor's mansion, and the Craigdarroch Castle. Depending on the timing of the day as well as the season, you'll have the opportunity to feed the harbor seals at the Oak Bay Marina. After exploring this city of diverse origins and interests, you'll be returned to the cruise ship pier. - We recommend a 15% tip to your driver. - The tour of Craigdarroch Castle will be either self-guided or a curated tour. Your driver will not enter the castle with you. - Groups larger than 14 people will be in two vehicles. - Please note that the Marina closes at 5 PM, so if your tour begins in the afternoon you may not be able to feed the seals. Additionally, between late June and early August there are not many seals to be fed as this is when they tend to their new born pups. - While the grounds of Craigdarroch Castle are wheelchair accessible, the Castle is not and requires walking up and down steps. This tour is not recommended for those in wheelchairs or for those with limited mobility. -This tour is not available on December 25th, 26th and January 1st. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
