OverviewDiscover the sites and savor the flavors of Prague's most delicious neighborhoods. The charming cobblestone streets, narrow alleys and forgotten side streets of Prague hold treasures waiting to be discovered. With your local guide leading the way, we'll showcase Prague's neighborhoods and explain the connection between the city's history, its people and its food. Although this tour's focus is experiencing the local cuisine, we'll also meet the passionate butchers, bakers, chefs, brewers and restaurant owners who elevate this tour from ordinary to extra-ordinary. Delight in Prague's "fairy tale" architecture as we pass through the Old Town en route to our first tasting destination. The classic dish of dumplings and braised beef is just one of the savory samplings of this tour. We'll also visit a local butcher, purveyor of all natural products and master of Old World techniques. Never tasted sauerkraut soup before? Remember, you came on this tour to try new things. So go ahead...try it, you'll like it (or love it!) Another local favorite is the open-faced sandwich. Find out about its origins as you delight in every bite. No food tour is complete without a visit to a local brewery. We'll take a tour of a craft brewery proud of its use of all natural ingredients and, of course, relish a sample of foamy, hoppy perfection. At some point during our day, we'll sneak off to a lovely, out of the way art gallery. Just the flower-filled courtyard is worthy of the detour, although you won't want to miss the gallery's offerings inside. An old tradition, lovingly brought back to life is the gingerbread cookie. Although these delightful treats come in a variety of shapes and decorations, rest assured they all contain the same spicy, chewy goodness underneath. We hope you've saved room for some of Prague's famous pastries, or perhaps one of this bakery's fabulous chocolate confections or hot chocolates. Hmmm, you might want to return again after the tour is over. - Transportation to and from the meeting location is not included. Specific instructions will appear on your voucher. - This is a walking tour, with some cobblestone streets. Wear comfortable shoes. - This tour operates regardless of weather. Bring an umbrella or raincoat if rain is in the forecast. - Please alert ShoreTrips in advance of any dietary restrictions or food allergies. We will do our best to accommodate. - The order of the sites visited may vary. - The art gallery stop only takes place in the summer. During winter months, another stop will be substituted. - If you prefer a different day of the week, a private experience can be arranged for a small fee if the guide is available.
