OverviewFor those looking for a deeper cultural immersion! The best way to get to know a city is to eat your way through it and that is just what we are going to do! Cooking is so much about the ingredients, but it's also so much about the culture of a place. With a local 'foodie' as your guide, we'll bring you on an immersive journey through the culturally rich neighborhood of Sham Shui Po. Our path is not one you would find on your own as many of these establishments are tucked away and known only to locals. Our goal is to bring you food for thought, not just food for your belly! While the locations may vary, we will bring you to six locales, each chosen for a special reason. Our first will be to a traditional café, for a typical Hong Kong breakfast. Delight in a steaming hot bun, steamed rice rolls, and tea. Continuing on we'll stop at a soy specialty store where you will learn all about this beloved ingredient. Of course, the best way to learn is by tasting and we'll be sure you sample a few different products. As morning turns to afternoon it's time for lunch and we'll sample three different types of Chinese dumplings and will let you determine your favorite! To round off the meal you'll enjoy egg noodles that are made fresh each and every day. This culinary experience wouldn't be complete without dessert and our last stop is to a local favorite bakery where we'll let you decide which cookie you like best! - You will have to take a taxi to the meeting location for this tour. More information will be provided on your voucher. - Tour cost includes selected food and drink tasting at six locations. - Total walking distance is approximately 1.5 miles. - This tour operates rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. - If your ship does not make port, this tour will be non-refundable. Please take out travel insurance to cover this rare occurrence. This is an exception to the normal ShoreTrips Terms of Service. This tour will NOT be refundable in cases in which conditions make it impossible for the ship to dock and disembark passengers in a timely manner. - There is a maximum of 8 participants per tour. - Please alert ShoreTrips in advance of any dietary restrictions or food allergies.
