Overview

Descend Mt. Wellington!

From the waterfront of Hobart, to the summit of Mount Wellington this tour will bring you an adventure unlike any other. Our journey begins with an uphill climb, but lucky for you this is done in a vehicle. We are headed towards the summit of Mount Wellington and once we reach it you are in for a treat with spectacular views spanning Tasmania. Bring your camera and make sure to soak in the views - this corner of the planet makes for a once in a lifetime experience you won't forget!

Once at the summit and after a safety briefing we are headed downhill. The ride is approximately 13 miles total, and all downhill. The ride is moderate, though if you find it to be too strenuous there is a support vehicle following your ride.

Back in the city we will pass some of Hobart's highlights before returning to our meeting point. These highlights include Cascade Brewery and Gardens, the Female Factory, Hobart Rivulet track and Battery Point, Salamanca and Hobart’s waterfront.

- Meeting location is approximately 15 minutes walking from the cruise ship pier. You may also choose to take a short taxi.
- A support vehicle will follow your bike ride. You can leave personal items in the vehicle.

- This program requires a minimum of 4 participants and can accommodate up to 20 participants.
- This program operates on Fridays and Saturdays only from May-September. From October-April this program operates daily.
- Enclosed footwear must be worn.
- We recommend dressing in layers and bringing warm clothing as the mountain temperatures can be very cold at times.
- Riders must be at least 8 years old and have a minimum of height of 5'. Maximum weight is 264 lbs per person.
- This is a 13 mile bike ride, though the majority of the ride is downhill. The activity level is moderate.
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
- Enclosed Footwear must be worn.
- Mt Wellington Summit can be affected at times by adverse weather conditions. In these conditions we cannot always guarantee views due to poor visibility and also may choose to commence cycle descent from a lower height to avoid strong winds. Should weather conditions become extreme we reserve the right to alter, delay or cancel a scheduled departure. A refund would apply if an alternate to a cancelled tour cannot be provided.
