How Does Your Garden Grow - Fruits And HerbsExplore > Malaysia > Penang > How Does Your Garden Grow - Fruits And HerbsOverviewGreat for all ages and interests. This tour can easily entertain children, as well as adults. The name of these farms are not clever but the contents of each are amazing! This informative tour is especially fascinating for those who love gardening and cooking. Immersed in a completely foreign culture, you will easily learn the sameness and differences in the local Malaysian farm life. Your drive towards the northern tip of the island is heading for Teluk Bahang, a friendly fishing village. Hidden in the lush countryside is an 8-acre valley that houses the Tropical Spice Garden. What a surprise upon your arrival to see this award-winning garden, the first in Southeast Asia. You will make your way through this incredible setting, surrounded by growth often taller than you. You can take an audio tour or, if timing it right and time allows, you can follow a specialist in all things in this garden. Tropical rain forests, lavish foliage, exotic species, and herbs you have never heard of are in abundance. There is a gift shop where many of the herbs are packaged so you can create your own Malaysian dishes back home. To balance all those spices, we make another stop, this time to see fruits. As many as 370 species of edible fruits are grown here, including the exotic ones to suit the fussiest of tasters. The Tropical Fruit Farm was built to preserve the green heritage and allow future generations to enjoy not only local varieties, but fruits from around the world. Despite the intense development in Malaysia and on Penang, this fruit farm has a goal of bringing agriculture to the generations of the future. Twenty-five acres have been planted with 250 types of tropical and subtropical fruit and your tour of the property will take about 30 minutes, just the right amount. There will be guided farm tours conducted periodically from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. The tour goes for about 30 minutes. After the farm tour, you will be able to relax and take in the breathtaking view while enjoying a wide variety of freshly cut fruits and a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice of your choice. Head back refreshed and ready to consult your local grocery for some of these delectables. - There is easy walking at both farms. Please dress comfortably. - All entrance fees are included. - If you have more than 14 people in your party, please contact ShoreTrips Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
