Cusco.- The „Navel of the Earth" is another name for Cusco since during the florescence of the Incas almost every path and way led to the capital of the empire. Also nowadays, almost every visitor of Peru eventually comes to the city located at 3.400m.o.s.l, which unites evidence from different epochs. You will not only find Incan walls and temples but also colonial mansions and catholic churches. In combination with the flair of modern Cusco, it is one of the most fascinating cities in the country.

Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed at the airport and taken to your hotel in Cusco.

After check-in at the hotel, you will start your tour through Cusco. In the heart of the Incan empire, at the Plaza de Armas, you begin your tour with the visit of the impressive Cathedral. Furthermore, you make your way through little alleys that are edged with Incan walls until you reach the temple of the sun, Koricancha. This religious site was used by the Spaniards as a basis for the construction of the Catholic Church Santo Domingo.

Day 3 - January 14, 2015
You will be picked up at given time at the hotel and brought to the airport to take your flight to Lima.

LAN #22022 leaves Cusco at 9:50am and arrives in Lima at 11:15am

Lima. - The Peruvian capital was founded 1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizzaro. Here, you will encounter colonial richness and the vibrating vitality of an oriental bazar. The city has melancholic winters where the fog „garua" rules and also hot and humid summers. There are huge districts where poor people live but also rich quarters with comfortable, old houses and the smell of jasmine in the evening.

Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed at the airport to start your city tour to Lima.

During your city tour you visit the main attractions of Lima. Drive to the main square where you will see the Cathedral, the Government Palace, Archbishop`s Palace and the City Hall. Visit the San Francisco Monastery, which besides an interesting museum features catacombs which you also visit. Continue to the fascinating Larco Herrera museum. With more than 45.000 objects of pre-Columbian ceramics, textiles and gold and silver pieces, it houses one of the most impressive collections at all. It is also known for its exhibition of erotic ceramics of the Mochica culture. Finally, visit to the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores known for its great number of entertainment and shopping centres, bars and excellent restaurants. The tour will end up at the "Parque de los enamorados" (Lovers' Park) from where you will have a great view of the Pacific Ocean.

After the tour, transfer to Callao port to embark the Prinsendam cruise.

For the train ride to/from Machu Picchu /Aguas Calientes only one 5kg piece of hand luggage is allowed. In Cusco the extra luggage can be stored at your hotel.

For the visit of Machu Picchu we recommend good shoes, the trail is without handrail and could be slippery. Walking sticks need to have a rubbery end in order to be permitted inside the Sanctuary.

Not included are optional tours, luggage handling fee at the airports (where available), airfares, airport-taxes, personal expenses, extras at the hotels, drinks during meals if not otherwise mentioned, non-mandatory tips.

This tour is 100% non-refundable if the passenger must cancel due to their ship not arriving in port or because of illness or death.
