Overview

This tour will introduce you to several treasures of the ancient world.

After meeting your official Turkish guide at cruise ship pier, you will continue to Selcuk, where the Roman city of Ephesus is located.

Upon arriving, you will visit the site of Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, which Alexander the Great visited while it was being constructed in 335 B.C.

Then continue on to Ephesus, one of the most magnificent and best-preserved ancient sites in the world. Ephesus was founded by the Amazons, but now it is more commonly believed to have been the Hittite city of Apasa. Tour the site, including the Celsus Library, whose facade has been carefully reconstructed from all original pieces, the Great Theatre with a seating capacity of 25,000 people, and the Temple of Hadrian.

You will also tour the Terrace Houses, located on the slopes of Bulbul Mountain opposite the Hadrian Temple. Only the wealthy could afford such houses; as such, the site is now a reminder of the lavish style of life that was experienced by the rich inhabitants of Ephesus. The excavations started in 1960, and many of the findings have been left in their original places.

All entrance fees are included in the price of this tour.

Always communicate your needs and expectations to your driver/guide.
