Copenhagen Highlights...A Shoretrips Value Shared TourExplore > Denmark > Copenhagen > Copenhagen Highlights...A Shoretrips Value Shared Tour
OverviewCapture the highlights of Copenhagen on this value shared tour! Known for so many things - spectacular design, canals, Tivoli, and street food! Copenhagen had its sights on greatness since the 11th century when it first became a settlement. The harbor provided endless opportunities for trade, warfare and travel with countless reconstructions as new rulers and sieges took place. This once small fishing village has since erupted into a home for over a million Danes and is often ranked towards the top of the most appealing cities to live in. At the Amalienborg Palace (outside only) you will see Copenhagen's version of the Buckingham Palace. Some may tell you it is 4 times better as it is made up of four identical buildings, all considered palaces within Amalienborg Palace itself. In the center of the complex is a famous statue of King Frederik V which has been standing since 1771. Just across the water you can spot the Copenhagen Opera house, one of the most expensive ever built. On your way to the modern town center you will have an outside stop of the Rosenborg Castle. This was the summerhouse and creation of King Christian IV who stayed here while living in Copenhagen, it was also the site of his death. Christian IV was the longest-reigning monarch of Denmark who stood in power for 59 years. This castle's greatness matches the length of his reign! As you pass through the highlights of the city center you will approach the impressive Christianborg Palace where you will have an inside visit. This palace is one of a kind as it is the only one in the world that houses all three of the governments supreme powers; Executive, Legislative and Judicial. A guided tour will bring you to some of the most impressive rooms on the property. Your day will wrap up in Nyhavn which is best known as "The New Harbor". This area's past is filled with sailor stories and a walk along the waterfront offers numerous cafes and uniquely designed buildings. Here you will have free time to explore on your own. - Please wear comfortable walking shoes. - Entrance fees to Christiansborg Palace are included in the price of the tour. - Please be advised that some of the smaller ships handling Baltic itineraries are more difficult for us to confirm. They often arrive at odd times and dock in smaller ports which make combining services formidable. We are speaking specifically of Crystal, Oceania, Azamara, Silver Seas, Viking, Seabourn and Regent. We will do our best but it would be preferred if you select a private excursion to secure the service. - This tour accommodates a maximum of 24 passengers. - These excursions can not be done as a pre-cruise tour or a post-cruise tour. They must be round trip transportation from the cruise ship pier during a normal port day in the itinerary. Even if your ship overnights at the back end of your itinerary, unfortunately, we cannot run this tour that way. - You are purchasing a shared tour and you will be expected to maintain the pace of the group. If you use a walker, wheelchair or scooter or if you have mobility problems you will be refused service and not refunded. We suggest that you purchase a private tour for your best enjoyment. Also, please note that if you have an infant, that we also would suggest a private tour. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
