Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Way too expensive for what you get and poor customer service. We were placed on a first floor room that had no barrier between the windows and the street so anyone passing by could see straight into the room if the blinds were open. On top of having to be in a dark cave of a room for two days, the carpet was incredibly stained and dingy and the bathroom floors had not been cleaned based on the stains around the toilet and shower. When we told management, they said they would do what they could to remedy the situation, just to have the travel agent we booked with contact them directly. Travel agent has contacted them and the hotel has said the room was as advertised and they will not provide any reimbursement for the subpar room that cost over $250 a night. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else in Franz Josef!

Review:   5 stars for the service of the staff at least. The restaurant staff are very friendly and courteous. Special thanks to the Indian man whose name I cannot remember, he went out of the way to make me a nice coffee when the automatic machine didn't offer soy milk. Overall the hotel was an enjoyable experience. We stayed in what seemed to be a family room with a double and single bed. It was fairly modest and not overly class, I'm assuming this is the cheaper option. There were nicer rooms available. Restaurant is very cosy, fantastic buffet breakfast. There doesn't appear to be any noticeable lifts. Details: two seats and a coffee table, a large vanity and a bench which could possibly be folded out as another bed. There is a microwave and the usual tea/glasses, hair dryer located in the draws and an umbrella. Bathroom is spacious.

Review:   Great place, good view from the room. However there is no AC unit to cool down the room.
