Post-Cruise Buenos Aires Highlights Tour With Tigre DeltaExplore > Argentina > Buenos Aires > Post-Cruise Buenos Aires Highlights Tour With Tigre Delta
OverviewVisit the lush region of Tigre Delta, enjoy vibrant Buenos Aires, and then head to the airport. Begin at Tigre Delta, one of the most attractive areas in the region with its rivers, streams and numerous green islands. Then move on to the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, the center of political, economic and intellectual life of the country. On the way to the Tigre Delta you will pass through the most residential quarters in the suburbs of the Capital Federal. Visit San Isidro, one of the few remaining sites where old style and romanticism is still alive. Stroll around in a nice little park or visit the impressive cathedral. A favorite pastime is a leisurely trip on a comfortable boat along the water passage ways, and you will enjoy your ride as you take in the surroundings and the scenery. On Saturdays a visit to its colorful market, with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and wicker-wares is also a must. Then you are on to Buenos Aires, to get in direct touch with the town where the Tango was born. Begin on Avenida de Mayo and the Plaza de Mayo, surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Cabildo, the first City Hall, built during Spanish rule. At the other end of Avenida de Mayo you will find the Congress building, and then continue to San Telmo, the best kept historical neighborhood and eldest district of Buenos Aires (no stop). At this point you will also most likely want to grab a quick bite to eat. Your next stop is La Boca, a most colorful area. At the famous street Caminito you will fine painters, often offering their Tango pictures. Pass Colon Theatre, one of the world's best known opera houses and the cultural pride of the "porteños" (as the inhabitants of Buenos Aires are commonly called), and continue to Palermo with its beautiful parks, the City Zoo, Botanical Garden, Argentine Horsetrack, and National Polo Fields. Your final stop will be the Recoleta area, one of the city's most glamorous spots. In the cemetery of Recoleta - the center of this aristocratic district -you will find the grave of Eva Duarte, who became famous as Eva Perón (Evita). You will also find the Municipal Cultural Center, elegant boutiques, and excellent restaurants, surrounded by centennial trees. This tour includes all transportation and a great English-speaking guide. Lunch is not included. After your tour, you will be dropped off at the airport or your hotel. Please note: Tours in Tigre involve a boat ride through the canals. This boat portion of the tour is not private. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
