Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   The staff at this hotel was great. They were all very friendly and accommodating. The pool was very nice but the lagoon left a little to be desired. It was smaller than I expected it would be. The suites were a good size but were not nearly as nice and updated as I would have hoped for the price. This is probably my fault for not researching what I would get for 400 a night but it seems if you want a nice updated hotel in Aruba you should be spending closer to 600 a night or more. I guess I expected Marriot to invest more in keeping up with the rooms. Everything negative was purely cosmetic and seems that the place has not been updated in at least 10 years. Carpet was dingy and gross, the TVs were small (32") The furniture was outdated and not comfortable. The only saving grace for this hotel is the private island which is wonderful and the very close proximity to anything that you would want to do or eat for a night out.

Review:   Right on the opposite side of the waterfront. A very nice location with outdoor swimming pool next to a bar/eating area. Rooms are typical of this hotel brand and try and get one high level and looking out to sea. A Starbucks coffee outlet on ground floor as well as a shopping mall all on site.

Review:   Thought this would be more exclusive but the Marina is where it's happening. A hot water issue (lack of) plagued our stay. The private island is fabulous but the water taxi has house rules important to know... ask the desk at check in. The items in the kitchen were wet and the ice bucket had mold. It is nice but even as a Platinum member I may look elsewhere next time.

Review:   My wife and I received an email 3 days prior to our trip from the hotel staff letting us know that they can help with anything upon arrival. The staff at the hotel and island was so helpful kind and always willing to help. The adult pool at the Marina Building is lively with music and staff. The hotel has boats that go back and forth to their island just about every 15 mins. It's so worth it. The island and staff are fantastic. The island has a restaurant that opens at 8:30 for breakfast. It also has 2 sides to the island Adult side and family side for sunbathing.
