Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Another friendly welcome from all the staff on reception ..... The weather was unusually gloomy but the staff soon changed the mood with the familiar effervescence I have often experienced at Te Pania. My room ( as all have ) has seen an improvement to the furnishings which are now more vibrant and colourful and this noticeably has improved the ambience to my stay. I enjoyed in house dining for my two night stay and was very pleased as the quality of the food was again a very high standard. The menu was wide an varied although some of my personal favourites had been removed this didn’t spoil anything. Looking forward to my next stay already. Gavin and Sue deserve a special mention for consistently good all round service. Thank You

Review:   Tastefully furnished rooms the bright chairs by the window looking towards the sea do brighten the large room. You probably need to be at least on the 4th floor for the sea view though as a building has been built on the shore side of the road. Great location for the town shops not even 5 minutes. Parking is at the rear. Had a very nice evening meal in the restaurant but breakfast was a bit manic & if you want toast you have to ask no 'self serve' toaster. One down side the large trucks rumbling by at all hours of the day for the docks you'd think the town would have a bypass. Still going at 9pm I did eventually fall asleep & noticed them at 6.10 am again when I woke up.

Review:   Very easy location for walking to great restaurants and shops. Wouldn't have liked to stayed on the two lower floors for privacy's sake. Higher floor rooms have a superb view of the water. All n' all a really great stay.

Review:   Te Pania Scenic Hotel Napier was ideally situated with a good carpark just outside the door and within easy, short walks to the city and the beautiful esplanade. The view from our room on the 5th floor was fantastic and looked out over the esplanade and ocean. The room was very clean, large and airy with the added bonus of being able to open the large window and also having a very efficient air conditioning/heat pump.

Review:   Lovely views just a shame we had to wait for three quarters of an hour to get into our room.
