OverviewFull day tour of Normandy including landing beaches. This trip is designed to take you the 1.5 hours from the port of Le Havre to the landing beaches of Normandy. You will be accompanied by a great English-speaking driver throughout the day. This tour includes: • Round trip transportation from the cruise ship pier in a private vehicle • English-speaking driver • Tour of D-Day sights This trip will take you the 1.5 hours from the port of Le Havre to the landing beaches in Normandy. Re-live the historic invasion of Normandy by Allied troops during World War II at the museums, battlefields, and monuments along the beautiful Normandy coast. Visit the famous American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer with its stark white gravestones, a truly moving experience. You'll also see the amazing artificial military harbours at Port Winston at Arromanches, Omaha Beach (the principal landing site of American forces), the impressive German battery at Longues sur Mer, and the battleground, memorial, and museum at Pointe du Hoc. Additionally, you may stop at Utah beach, travelling via Sainte-Marie-du-Mont and Sainte-Mére-Eglise. Your return to Le Havre will be a 1.5 hour drive. This tour includes transportation from the port of Le Havre to the beaches of Normandy. This is a private tour with a great English-speaking driver. We have found that there may be a rare occurrence of a port change from Le Havre to Cherbourg. Cherbourg is accessible to the same sightseeing, but is a slightly longer ride. This port requires an increase in cost as the distance from these highlights is further. Your guide will be waiting for you as you disembark. You may have an adjustment to your tour itinerary depending on your exit time, but be assured that your knowledgeable driver/escort will direct you to a satisfying day. This change is an exception to our policy that ship changes will result in a refund. People have been too disappointed sitting on the ship after this itinerary change and we feel this is in the best interest of the traveler.
