Helsinki is an intellectual town with a major university and many cultural institutions. Quite sophisticated, the city offers tourists a clean environment with great museums, nice harbor views, and lots of shopping.
Perhaps you'd like to explore the downtown area and stop by some of the famous public buildings designed by Alvar Aalto, and the Rock Church, and Sibelius Park. You may want to visit Porvoo, the second-oldest town in Finland dating back to 1346 and extremely picturesque.
