OverviewVisit the fascinating Acropolis of Lindos followed by an afternoon at the beach. The excursion includes a licensed English-speaking guide and deluxe motor coaches. Your excursion begins with a one-hour scenic drive along the east coast of the island, passing through different landscapes and many villages, including the village of Archangelos, where you'll stop for a demonstration of handmade pottery being created at a potter's wheel. Upon arrival at Lindos, the "Jewel of the Island" and the most attractive village on Rhodes, you'll enjoy a guided visit of the Acropolis, including the Great Stoa, the Temple of Athena Lindia of the 4th century BC, the ancient theatre, and the few remains of the Temple of Dionysus. Continue through the picturesque village, with its traditional architecture and decorated houses, many dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Your last stop is the 15th century medieval church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, of which the icons and frescoes have recently been restored to their former glory. Next, you'll be taken to the beach, where you'll have time for swimming, browsing, shopping, and lunch at one of the many taverns offering delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Lindos' wonderful beach carries a European "Blue Flag," confirming clean water for swimming and snorkeling. A variety of water sports equipment, as well as sun beds and umbrellas (10€ for two sun beds and one umbrella), are available for rent on-site. - The price of this tour includes a wonderful, licensed English-speaking guide. - The price of this tour does not include the per person entrance fee of 12€ to the Acropolis of Lindos. - Unless you would like a shortened touring time, this trip can start no later than 9 a.m. - The Sunday Supplement also applies to certain Public Holidays.
