Amsterdam Tulips - The Keukenhof GardensExplore > Netherlands > Amsterdam > Amsterdam Tulips - The Keukenhof GardensOverviewNature lovers love flowers...especially at the world's largest flower garden. "Nowhere else in the world are the flowers and colors of spring as glorious as at Keukenhof!" Attention all nature lovers and green thumbs! Join us for an unforgettable day trip to the world’s largest flower garden, Keukenhof Flower Gardens (also known as the Garden of Europe) for their extraordinary annual flower show. This amazing display only lasts for eight weeks out of the entire year (typicall the last week in March to mid-May). If you’re here during this period, you won't want to miss this opportunity! We'll take the scenic route to the flower gardens, passing by the tiny 800-year-old town of Lisse, which is the “center of the flower growing region.” We’ll then continue through the spectacular Dutch flower fields that are in colorful springtime bloom at this time of year. Once we arrive at the gardens, you'll be able to wander along the peaceful paths in this magnificent park setting, enjoying the gorgeous landscape architecture and pleasant floral aroma! Keukenhof Gardens held its first open-air flower exhibition back in 1949 and has expanded annually to the delight of its international visitors. Historically, it was where people came to gather herbs for the castle’s kitchen, which is where the name Keukenhof or “kitchen garden” comes from. Today, Keukenhof is the world’s largest bulb flower garden, covering a massive 80 acres of land and home to approximately 7 million tulips and daffodils that are in bloom during this special time. We'll also visit the impressive greenhouses (nearly 54,000 square feet) and view the indoor exhibitions and demonstrations. Claimed as the “most photographed place on Earth,” you’re sure to return home with spectacular shots! We’ll take time for lunch at the gardens (additional cost), where you may choose to dine at any of the four restaurants located on the grounds. - Lunch is not included in this tour. You may choose from any of the 4 restaurants on the park grounds. - Please note: Total tour time is approximately 7 hours. If you have less time available, it is possible to see the major sights of this tour in as little as 5 hours, however, the tour price remains the same. - Entrance fees to the THE KEUKENHOF GARDENS is 18 euro per person and not included in the tour cost. - The Keukenhof Gardens are open from March 21 through May 19, 2020.
