Review:   Recommended for: Honeymoons and Romantic Celebrations!

Pros: The Outrigger Reef on the Beach is one of the few resorts that sits directly on the Waikiki Beach. They offer excellent rates and packages that include breakfast. Their rooms offer direct ocean front views of the ocean. They feature one the best local restaurants, The Shorebird where you can pick out your selection (beef, chicken and fish) and cook your entree on the large grill just steps away from the ocean's edge! At night the restaurant turns into an electric atmosphere with music and Karaoke! They also have a late night beach bar with daily specials. The Outrigger Reef on the beach is one of the best places to watch the Aloha Friday's Fireworks display!

Cons: None.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Staying in a partial Ocean View room and it is comfy and clean. Staff are friendly and the activities desk helped us plan different things to enjoy during our stay and was able to save us some money. Hotel is right on the beach with a nice pool and hot tub. Food is good. Great location close to many shops and restaurants and on Fridays you can see the fireworks from their beach. My fiancee and I are having a lovely stay and would definitely stay again.

Review:   This hotel holds its own with the higher rates more expensive local hotels. The location is slightly of the main street but a trolly is available to save your legs. The beach couldn't be any closer. The 4 star rating is because of the 30 dollar charge per night on arrival. After paying what I believe is a fair rate for the room this charge is ludicrous. For the more frugal visitors I'd suggest a trek out for food,as in the hotel this wasn't right for my budget. There are many options to suit all. I have mixed opinion of the staff at the hotel, the house keeping staff are thoughtful, polite and welcoming. This was not the case for some other staff. We did have a odd experience on the first night. A local man who was very intoxicated offered drugs and women to us for a price. The bar staff seemed to avoid confronting the man and stood as far away as possible. This clearly one of situation did not affect our stay. If I had the opportunity to return here again I would without a doubt and would choose the reef over the local competition. The room was a great size. The bed was super comfy. The television was a bit over the top. Possible 55inches. Bath shower and coffee facilities all great. Balcony seem pointless on our room as our view was an opposite hotel pretty much in touching distance. Also being located near the elevator may of upset light sleepers. Not an issue for me.

Review:   We have stayed at this hotel four years in a row which has been a favourite. Sadly we came back this year to lots of changes. The restaurant at the ocean had closed and the other was not busy, lights too bright and had lost it’s relaxed atmosphere. Usually there is a tremendous lineup at this restaurant where you received your food of choice and barbecued it yourself. It was not inviting at all. Not sure we will be back but not because of staff solely because of changes.

Review:   Deserves 4.5 but that’s not an option. Great location. Best possible location, really. On its “own” beach right beside Waikiki. Steps from the best shopping and restaurants. Hotel is an open breezeway concept, very nice. Pool is smallish but not terrible. Too cold. Beach is gorgeous but has limited depth so it is very busy and tight. But there is no global warming according to trump so the beach should be fine long term. Service is good. Higher end staff (at check in etc) are above average. Servers and maid staff average. Tight affiliation with Wyndham timeshare gets aggravating as you can’t even talk to concierge without getting pitched. Takes away from the upscale feel. Overall, I would return. Rooms aren’t nearly as dated as some reviews claim. I had a cheaper room that yes, was beside a condo. But privacy was fine and even we had a partial ocean view. Just a good place overall. Expensive but should be on your list.
